Da Nang Ranked 1st in Public Administration Reform Index 2015
Da Nang, for the fourth consecutive year since 2012, took the lead on the Public Administration Reform Index 2015 (PAR Index 2015) at the provincial level with a total score of 93.31%.  The ranking table of this index was announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs at a recently online meeting, held to review the country’s administrative reforms over the 2011 - 2015 period and to identify key tasks for the 2016 - 2020 period.

Followed closely behind Da Nang were Hai Phong City with 92.59% and Dong Nai Province with 92.53%.  Dien Bien Province dropped to the bottom of the rankings with a score of 74.99%.  The national average was 85.11%, which was 3.9 % higher than in 2014.

 

As for the ministry-level index results, the State Bank of Viet Nam took the lead nationally of 19 ministries and departments with a score of 89.42%, followed by the Ministry of Finance with 89.21% and the Ministry of Transport with 88.77%.  The ministries of Information and Communications, and Industry and Trade were the bottom 2, with 82.04% and 82.19% respectively.

 

The PAR Index monitors and assesses the annual performances of public administration reform of people’s committees of provinces and cities under the direct management of the central government.  The index involves the fields including renovating mechanism and administrative organisation, improving the quality of local State officials, and reforming and modernising public administration.  These will help promote local socio-economic development.
