143,000 Tourist Arrivals to Da Nang during Christmas and New Year Holidays

The Da Nang Department of Tourism recently announced that the city expects nearly 143,000 tourists during these Christmans and New Year 2018 holidays, up 17.9 percent over the same period last year, including 81,530 foreign visitors, a year-on-year increase of 16.2%.

A total of 65,800 tourists have already booked rooms at hotels and resorts to explore the city, up 12.6% over the same period last year.  Most of four to five-star hotels and resorts will host special prorgammes during Christmas and New-Year’s eve count-down parties.

It is estimated that about 61,300 foreign tourists will take 357 flights to the city in the Christmas and New Year 2018 holiday this year, up 17.5%.  Tourists to Da Nang as well as local people this festive occasion will also have the chance to travel via some new air routes such as Incheon - Da Nang (Vietjet Air, Eastar Jet), Hong Kong - Da Nang (Jetstar), Busan - Da Nang (T’way Air), Deagu - Da Nang (T’way Air, Air Busan) and Osaka - Da Nang (Jetstar).  In addition, four tourist ships are scheduled to dock at Tien Sa Port.  The department will host the ceremonies to welcome the first tourists of 2018 on the Incheon-Da Nang flight at the Da Nang International Airport as well as the first cruise visiting the city on New Year’s Day, the cruise MSC Lirica.

Visitors to the city this occasion will find themselves immersed in many festive activities.  Specifically, the Ba Na Hills Resort is celebrating the Winter festival which will go on until the end of December.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang Museum and the Marble Mountains Tourist Area will welcome the first visitors of 2018 to these destinations on the first day of the New Year.

Other popular tourist attractions within the city are also preparing to welcome their first New Year visitors through various activities such as renovating their structures, preparing welcome banners, ensuring environmental sanitation and safety and offering attractive promotion programmes.
