On October 9th, the city’s Department of Tourism welcomed Le Lapérouse cruise ship to Tien Sa Port (Da Nang) with 200 international tourists from many countries around the world such as the US, France, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand. This is the first ship to bring tourists by sea to Da Nang after a hiatus due to COVID-19.

Le Lapérouse is the lead ship of the Ponant Explorers-class of cruise ships (consisting of 6 vessels) operated by Ponant. La Lapérouse is introduced as an eco-friendly ship, modernly equipped with an open-plan lounge and 5-star service.

Le Laperouse, 132m long, 18m wide, and 28m high, was put into service in 2018. The ship’s moderate size offers a sense of intimacy and a unique cruising experience. The highlight of the ship is a multi-sensorial underwater lounge called The Blue Eye.

The cruise to the coast and famous landmarks of Viet Nam lasting from 8 to 11 days is a new itinerary in Asia offered by Ponant on its website with prices starting from 4,240 Euros (nearly 100 million VND).

In October 2022, Le Laperouse will continue to dock at Da Nang Port on October 16th and 29th, in the time frame from 6:00AM to 11:00PM so that visitors can choose 03 different sightseeing routes at Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, Hoi An and My Son.

“Le Laperouse reviving cruise tourism after more than 2 years of hiatus due to COVID-19 is a good sign for tourism recovery,” Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism said.
