People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho announces the two letters of commendation of the President and the Deputy Prime Minister
People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho announced these letters during a recent meeting in Da Nang to review the mutual coordination between the city authorities and national government agencies in organising this international large-scale event.
In their letters, the 2 national leaders highly applauded Da Nang for joining its significant efforts with ministries, government agencies and the national business community to ensure the great success of the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
The President wrote that, on behalf of the whole country, Da Nang warmly welcomed distinguished guests from the APEC’s member economies along with those from ASEAN countries during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, and this has left good impressions on the international friends.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh hailed the AELW’s host city for job well done. He said that Da Nang focused on enhancing local infrastructure system, refurbishing major streets, building the APEC Park, ensuring security and traffic safety, developing a large number of liaison officers and volunteers for the large-scale international event, and fulfilling related tasks effectively.
Most notably, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that, although floods caused by this year’s 12th typhoon which swept through the central region of Viet Nam early this month adversely effected some of Da Nang’s parts, the authorities and people of the city raced against time to deal with the aftermaths of this natural disaster to re-establish normality in the lives of locals, as well as to ensure environmental sanitation and urban landscapes during the AELW.
The two national leaders also urged the authorities and people of the city to make greater efforts to gain even more breakthroughs in the city’s progress to make the locality more modern and more civilised in the years ahead. This will help Da Nang continue securing its position as one of the country’s pioneering localities in promoting innovations, dynamism and global integration.
