Chairman Huynh Duc Tho and Vice Chairman Phung Tan Viet of the Da Nang People’s Committee played host to the delegation. 

Chairman Tho highly appreciated the Club’s visit to Da Nang and said he hoped that the city would leave a good impression for the visiting guests via its distinctive cultural events and cuisine experience here.  The city leader reported that Da Nang currently ranked top of the 63 cities and provinces nationwide in the Provincial Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX 2014), topped Viet Nam’s Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2014, and topped the national index for information technology (IT) application readiness for the 3 consecutive years from 2010 to 2012.  The Chairman also spoke highly of the great efforts made by foreign consulates general and their ambassadors in appealing for businesses from their countries to invest in Da Nang.  He vowed that the local authorities would create very favourable conditions for foreign businesses and investors to learn about and access the city’s incentives for investment.

The ambassadors thanked for the warm greeting given by the city’s authorities to the delegation and expressed their belief that the city’s tourism image will be widely introduced to even more international friends in the near future. 

Viet Nam's UNESCO Gastronomy Club was established in June 2015 by the Department of External Culture of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and UNESCO.  The Club’s establishment aimed at promoting cultural exchange activities between these countries through cuisine.
