The Australian Embassy and Consulate-General in Viet Nam recently announced that they will host the third Taste of Australia programme thourghout Viet Nam this April; and Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang will be main destinations of this year’s programme.

Taste of Australia is the annual celebration of Australian food, beverages, cuisine, and culture throughout Viet Nam, led by Taste of Australia Ambassador, Vietnamese-Australian celebrity chef Luke Nguyen.
Australian Ambassador Craig Chittick said that Taste of Australia 2018 will be bigger and better than ever as this year marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Viet Nam. He added that it will be also very special because it will be the first Taste of Australia to feature Australian music as a focus of the programme. “Adding music to our 2018 program expands the concept of ‘taste’ to create a unique opportunity to hear fantastic Australian music while eating delicious high quality Australian food”, said the Ambassador.
In Da Nang, within the framework of this programme, the Australian Government will again host a culinary competition for young Vietnamese culinary students or recent graduates to show off their talents with the heat at Ba Na Hillls on 17 April and the final at Sheraton Da Nang on 20 April. In addition, the Taste of Australia 45th Anniversary Community Barbecue will be held at the Ocean Villas, Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, on 22 April, and Aussie singer-songwriter Nick Barker will have a performance at this BBQ.
Taste of Australia in 2017 was a huge success, encompassing 24 official events and 44 partner events acrosss Viet Nam.
