Foreign Diplomats Extend Lunar New Year Greetings to Da Nang’s Leaders

On 6 February, the Consuls General of Russia, Laos and China paid a pre-Tet visit and sent New Year greetings to the city leaders on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2018, the year of the Dog.

Secretary of Da Nang Municipal Communist Party Committee, Mr. Truong Quang Nghia, expressed his delight at the fruitful results from bilateral cooperative ties with many Russian localities over recent years during his reception for Mr. Brovarets Andrei Petrovich, the Consul General of Russia to Da Nang.

The city leader also took the opportunity to thank the Consulate General of Russia for joining efforts with the city authorities in hosting warm receptions for Russia’s leaders during their stay in the city whilst attending the 2017 APEC Econopmic Leaders’ Week (AELW).

Mr. Truong Quang Nghia also asked for help from the Russian diplomatic agency to boost friendship and cooperation between the city and Russian localities in education, trade, economy and tourism in more effective manner, especially appealing for more Russian visitors to the city in the years ahead.

In reply, the Russian diplomat wished the municipal Party Committee, the city authorities, and all the local residents good health, happiness and prosperity in the year ahead.  He also congratulated Da Nang on its remarkable achievements last year, especially gaining the comprehensive success of the AELW. 

* The Consul General of Laos PDR in Da Nang, Mr. Khamsene Phommaseng also congratulated Da Nang on its remarkable achievements last year, most notably the successful hosting of the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.  He also thanked the city authorities for their kind support for the promotion of the cooperation between Da Nang and Laotian localities for mutual development over recent years.  In addition, a series of events had been held in Da Nang last year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (1977 - 2017) and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties (1962 - 2017) between Laos and Viet Nam.

The Laotian Consul General also extended the best Tet wishes to the Party, government and people of Da Nang.

Secretary Truong Quang Nghia highly praised this Laotian agency for helping to strengthen the time-honoured special traditional friendship between Da Nang and Laotian localities as well as between the 2 countries.

The city leader said he would like the Laotian diplomat to make greater endeavour to boost bilateral cooperation in education and training, and cultural exchanges between Da Nang and Laotian localities in the years ahead.

* Chinese Consul General in Da Nang, Mrs. Xi Hui, vowed that her agency would be actively engaged in accelerating the cooperation between Da Nang and Chinese localities in such major aspects as trade, tourism and education.

In reply, Secretary Nghia underlined significance of opening of the Chinese Consulate General, and hoped that this diplomatic agency would promote their active engagement in fostering the bilateral cooperative relations with Chinese localities in the near future, as well as to lift the Viet Nam - China cooperative relationships to new heights as a whole.
