Da Nang is likely to host a total of 285,750 tourists, including more than 132,000 foreigners, during the upcoming Tet Festival, an increase of nearly 10% against the same period last year. This figure was reported recently by the city’s Department of Tourism.
More than 100,000 tourists, of which 75% were foreigners, had already booked rooms at hotels and resorts to explore the Tet festival and other attractions.
An estimated 40,750 international passengers, a year-on-year increase of 81.8%, are forecast to go through Da Nang International Airport via 269 flights connecting the city to Hong Kong, South Korean and Japanese airports such as Daegu, Yang Yang, Busan, Incheon, and Osaka. Foreign arrivals to the city this Tet holiday will be maily from China, South Korea, Japan, Europe and the USA.
The Da Nang Department of Tourism will organise a warm welcome ceremony at the airport on 16 February for the first 180 tourists from Hong Kong visiting the city in the lunar New Year as well as the the Taishan Cruise with 400 foreign passengers at Tien Sa Port on 18 February.
