On 16 April, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) held a ceremony to handover a series of new electric vehicles (EVs) to Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) as part of the cooperation programme between the two sides to study the potential of using electric vehicles in Viet Nam. In attendance was Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh.
The electric vehicles were 2 i-MiEV pure EVs and 2 Outlander PHEVs, along with 2 quick battery charger units.
These vehicles will enable MMC and DoIT to study how EVs can tackle air pollution caused by transportation in order to reduce CO2 emissions and save fuel. In addition, they will help to serve visitors to discover popular tourist attractions around Da Nang, and the Hoi An World Heritage site.
The cooperation project between MMC and DoIT will help Da Nang develop its environmentally-friendly policies to adopt in the locality in the future years.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh re-affirmed the city's firm stance on making every effort to achieve its green growth and sustainable development goals.
