Dutch Consul General Carel Richter: “Da Nang - One of Most Dynamic Localities in Viet Nam”

On 25 May, within the framework of the “Dutch Day 2018” in Da Nang to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and the Netherlands, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh played host to a delegation of Dutch enterprises led by their Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Carel Richter.

Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highlighted the importance of the organisation of the ‘Dutch Day 2018’ event in Da Nang with an aim to advertise the beautiful images of Dutch landscapes and its people to local residents, as well as offer the good opportunity for Dutch businesses to learn more about the city’s investment climate.

The city leader also spoke of Da Nang’s socio-economic achievements in recent years and vowed that the city authorities would create the most favourable conditions for Dutch citizens and enterprises to come to live, work and invest in Da Nang.

Consul General Carel Richter said that Da Nang is one of the most dynamic localities in Viet Nam with impressive growth rates, and expressed his admiration for Da Nang not only for its vibrant development, but also for the city’s efforts and future plan in accomplishing environmental sustainability.  The Dutch diplomat also emphasised that enterprises and research institutes from his country are willing to share experience to help make Da Nang a smarter, more friendly and sustainable city in the future.

The Dutch Day 2018 in Da Nang featured several exciting activities such as a “Bike Ride”, taking souvenir photos, learning about the Netherlands and its people, a painting exhibition, and a book display and a ‘Study in Holland’ booth.  In addition, there were a seminar with the theme of “Sustainable Investment and Urban Development” and a networking event where Dutch businesses were linked to local companies and relevant organisations.
