The Vice Chairman Minh asked for help from the French Consulate General to organise more bilateral exchanges, cultural events, and trade and investment promotion activities in Da Nang in order to promote the mutual understanding between the people of the two sides.  The city is also in need of the French government’s support to implement its climate change adaptation projects, especially in developing its public policies and enhancing its mitigation capacity.  The city leader also affirmed Da Nang’s willingness to establish twinning relationships with French localities with which Da Nang share many similarities in economic and climate conditions for mutual development.

In reply, French Consul General Vincent Floreani thanked the city leaders for facilitating the opening of the French Institute in Da Nang and the implementation of bilingual Vietnamese-French educational programmes at some schools in the city.  The French diplomat hoped that the Da Nang authorities would assist French businesses which show their interest in pouring money in the city’s aspects which invite foreign investment.

It is reported that Da Nang is now home to 21 French-invested projects totalling around 22.7 million USD.
