The Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City receiving the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Viet Nam

In the morning of October 7th, Mr. Huynh Duc Tho - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Da Nang City received and worked with Mr. Ory Csaba - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Viet Nam. Attending the meeting were Mr. Bakos Istvan, Economic Counselor in charge of ODA cooperation, leaders of the city’s departments and leaders of Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children.

At the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho introduced an overview of the city's development. The Chairman said, Da Nang's development orientation is to focus on priority areas such as high-tech industry, tourism and according to Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045. At the same time, Chairman Huynh Duc Tho expressed his wish that the Hungarian Government would help Da Nang City to connect and expand cooperation with Hungarian and European partners.

Ambassador Ory Csaba said that he highly appreciated the outstanding development of Da Nang City and the great achievements of the city's leaders and people in recent years. He expressed his wish that both parties would have more opportunities to cooperate and work together in the future.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho and Ambassador Ory Csaba discussed the issues related to the implementation of the project for upgrading the Da Nang Hospital for Women and Children. The funding for the implementation of this project is from the binding credit fund financed by the Hungarian Government for the Vietnamese Government with a value of 440 million EUR. Both parties want to find the best plan to implement the project, effectively using ODA capital funded by Hungary.

On 12th January 2017, the Hungarian Government and the Vietnamese Government had signed the framework agreement on the development of financial cooperation programs between the governments of the two countries. The Hungarian Government is currently providing a binding credit fund of 440 million EUR to the Vietnamese Government.
