At the meeting, Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh was very pleased to welcome and meet with Mr. Tosho Matsuo together with the representative delegation of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly whose first time it was to visit and work in Da Nang, especially since the visit took place within the celebration of Crown Prince Naruhito’s ascension as the Emperor of Japan, beginning the new imperial era, Reiwa.

On behalf of the City’s leaders, the Vice Chairman gave thanks to the recent cooperation activities of Fukuoka Prefecture and hoped that the members of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly would concentrate on recommending investors to come from Fukuoka to visit and get to know about the investment environment in Da Nang City. The Vice Chairman highly appreciated the positive contribution of Japanese partners and enterprises and confirmed that Da Nang City always respects the strengthening of the cooperation relationships with localities in Japan.

As stated by the Vice Chairman, current demands on student exchanges between Da Nang and Japan are ever increasing. Presently, Japanese language is being taught at 03 primary schools, 02 junior and 03 senior high schools in Da Nang City. The Vice Chairman wishes, in the coming time, for the two sides to continue strengthening student exchange programs. In addition, he hoped the representatives of Fukuoka Prefecture would attend the Viet Nam – Japan Cultural Exchange Festival held annually each July in Da Nang.

Fukuoka Prefecture has a developed seaport system and 02 international airports with approximately 14,000 Vietnamese people who are living and working there. Therefore, to facilitate the strengthening of economic, cultural and educational exchange activities, Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh wished the two sides would soon develop a direct flight between Fukuoka – Da Nang at the earliest time.

Mr. Tosho Matsuo – Acting Chairman of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, Chairman of the Fukuoka-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance said, recently, Fukuoka Prefecture has promoted many cooperation programs in Viet Nam in such fields as economics, environment, culture, education, etc. However, the outcome achieved was not worthy of the bilateral cooperation potential. Mr. Tosho Matsuo highly appreciated the dynamic development of Da Nang City and wished that Fukuoka Prefecture and Da Nang City would boost cultural exchange and economic cooperation programs, especially in the field of human resource training.

Together with the support to introduce and spread the image of the City of Da Nang into the market of Japan and Fukuoka Prefecture, Mr. Tosho Matsuo confirmed that the members of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly would make efforts to speed up the friendship relationship development between the two localities and two nations as well as act as a bridge to attract Japanese investors and enterprises to come to Da Nang.
