In the morning of December 19th, Chairman of the City People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho hosted a meeting with Tochigi Prefecture's Governor Delegation, led by Mr. Fukuda Tomikazu - Governor of Tochigi Prefecture (Japan) as the Head of the delegation visiting and working in Da Nang.
At the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Huynh Duc Tho introduced an overview of the city's socio-economic situation to Mr. Fukuda Tomikazu. Chairman Huynh Duc Tho said that over the past years the friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Japan had developed very well and comprehensively in many fields.

Currently, Japan is the leading country in terms of projects and investment capital in Da Nang with more than 130 companies with a total investment of over 800 million USD, focusing on areas such as: attracting investment, high technology, supporting industry, education, health, training of high quality human resources; etc. Especially, Da Nang has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish official relations with 4 Japanese cities, including: Kawasaki, Sankai, Yokohama, and Kisarazu; at the same time, there are cooperative relationships with over 20 other provinces and cities.
Exchanging at the meeting, Mr. Fukuda Tomikazu highly appreciated the outstanding development of the city in recent years. Mr. Fukuda Tomikazu said that Tochigi Prefecture currently had more than 4,200 Vietnamese and 5,700 Vietnamese students studying and living, which was a favorable basis for promoting the implementation of programs and exchange, cooperation, and investment attraction activities between the two cities in the future.

The Governor of Tochigi Prefecture hoped that there would be many visits to both sides, exchanging experiences in various fields, further promoting cooperation with Viet Nam in general and Da Nang in particular.
