Viet Nam and Japan Are Facing Great Opportunities to Further Enhance Cooperation between the Two Countries

In the morning on 13th January, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue attended and delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the Viet Nam - Japan economic, labor and tourism conferences held in Da Nang City. This event was within a visit to Viet Nam by the Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, Chairman of the Japan - Viet Nam Parliamentary Friendship Union Nikai Toshihiro, and attracted nearly 800 delegates from both countries.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue welcomed the visit of the largest scale Japanese Delegation ever in the exchanges between Viet Nam – Japan. The Delegation’s visit took place in the context of the extensive Viet Nam – Japan Strategic Partnership being developed strongly, comprehensively and increasingly effectively. This is a living testament to the strong and comprehensive development of relations between Viet Nam and Japan.


Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that Viet Nam and Japan are faced with great opportunities to further enhance cooperation between the two countries, including connecting development strategies, production capacity and human resource training.

He also said that the government of Viet Nam has continuously improved the investment and business environment, creating a favorable environment for Japanese enterprises to invest in Viet Nam. Regarding labor cooperation, it is necessary to continue strengthening cooperation and maintain policies and measures to ensure the legitimate interests of Vietnamese laborers in Japan.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that conferences and forums on investment, labor and tourism held at this time are very important. This is an opportunity for the concerned agencies, localities, organizations and enterprises of the two countries to exchange and propose specific measures as well as to help strengthen the two economies’ connectivity, thereby, opening up new cooperation opportunity to promote effective and real cooperation between the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister believed that in the coming time, the two sides would work together to further strengthen the cohesion and connection between the two countries; promote economic, investment and trade cooperation so that Japan becomes not only the leading investor but also the best investor; speeding up the institutionalization of policies, promoting labor cooperation relations; promoting people-to-people exchange and tourism cooperation; strengthening the connection between localities, creating cohesion and mutual understanding between people of the two countries.
