Service Center for Da Nang Foreign Affairs signs Memorandum of Understanding on overseas study consultancy with Taiwanese partners

In the framework of the plan on promoting cooperation in the field of overseas study with Taiwanese partners, on the morning of the 21st of January, Service Center for Da Nang Foreign Affairs (SCEDFA) held an online signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding with Taiwan-Viet Nam Economic, Cultural and Educational Development Association in Viet Nam, Minghsin University of Science and Technology, MinhDao University and Horizon International Language Academy.

The program on educational cooperation between Taiwan (China) and Viet Nam was initiated by the Taiwanese Government in 2016, to cooperate in training human resources from intermediate level and higher level to meet the needs of more than 6,000 Taiwanese businesses which are investing in Viet Nam with more than 700,000 jobs. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nhi, Former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap Province and currently a professional advisor  to Taiwan-Viet Nam Economic, Cultural and Educational Development Association in Viet Nam, said that the Association proposed signing the Memorandum of Understanding with SCEDFA and universities in Taiwan to connect and expand the program to more localities in the country as well as create opportunities to study and work for students.

In providing a variety of training programs in languages, majors, part-time mode of study, the universities in Taiwan aim to not only teach professional knowledge but also to focus on practicing career skills for students to create a foundation and improve job opportunities after graduation.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Hieu, Director of SCEDFA, greatly appreciated the role of the Association in connecting SCEDFA with partners in Taiwan in the field of education and believed that the Association would continue to promote cooperation between the two sides in other fields such as investment, commerce, and culture and society in the future.

The Director of SCEDFA said that in the context of the highly complicated COVID-19 pandemic all over the world and suspended commercial flights between countries and territories, online exchanges and signing Memoranda of Understanding are effective methods to implement cooperative activities between the parties.
SCEDFA and Taiwan-Viet Nam Economic, Cultural and Educational Development Association in Viet Nam also exchanged experiences on implementing enrollment in Viet Nam for overseas study in Taiwan and proposed directions for cooperation in the future such as: promoting and organizing trade fairs in Da Nang for

Taiwanese businesses and vice versa, promoting and organizing cultural and sports exchanges, and promoting and organizing job fairs for students after their graduation in Taiwan.
