On the afternoon of the 11th of December, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee, presided over a meeting with Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the heads of Overseas Representative Missions of Viet Nam for the 2020-2023 term on the occasion of their visit and work in Da Nang. Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, also attended this meeting.

On behalf of Da Nang City’s leaders, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the heads of Overseas Representative Missions of Viet Nam for taking the time to visit and learn about socio-economic development and the needs of Da Nang and regions of Central Viet Nam for international cooperation before receiving their assignments in countries and territories throughout the world.
“This is an important event for the City. Your presence in Da Nang is an honor and joy for the City, as it is beginning to enter a new term with the determination to restore economic development after a difficult time due to the recent epidemic and natural disasters. Among the many measures to promote economic development, strengthening diplomatic relations to attract foreign investment is one of the important measures of the City ”, the Secretary of the City Party Committee said.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quang also congratulated the heads of Overseas Representative Missions of Viet Nam on the occasion of receiving their new assignment and hoped that they would continue to make more contributions to our country's diplomacy as well as take care and support Da Nang in promoting international exchange and cooperation.

At the meeting, Mr. Bui Thanh Son said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs always considers Da Nang as one of the four leading cities of the country in socio-economic development and a regional hub. Therefore, before the heads of Overseas Representative Missions of Vietnam receive their overseas missions, they often organize a working delegation to grasp the socio-economic development and the needs of the City as well as the whole region for international cooperation.
According to Mr. Bui Thanh Son, the current work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to synchronously implement political diplomacy, economic diplomacy and cultural diplomacy. In particular, economic diplomacy determines that assisting localities and enterprises in the process of international cooperation and international integration, and taking advantage of external resources for the development of localities are very important.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs donated 300 million VND to Da Nang City to support the recovery from damage caused by floods
Besides congratulating Da Nang on successfully organizing the 22nd City Communist Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and having issued action programs to successfully implement the Congress Resolution, Deputy Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the heads of Overseas Representative Missions of Viet Nam will make efforts to support the city in promoting international cooperation in the future, with the expectation that Da Nang will continue to develop more strongly and become a political, economic and social center of Central Viet Nam.
