On March 25th, within the framework of the visit and working session of the Dutch trade delegation in the city, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency, and the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV) organized the event “Meeting Dutch Business Delegation”. Attending the meeting were Mr. Daniël Stork, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Christoph Prommersberger - Deputy Head Of Mission, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and representatives of the city’s departments and 13 Dutch businesses.

At the meeting, Da Nang Investment Promotion Agency and the city’s departments introduced overview information about infrastructure and investment incentive policies for foreign businesses. Although the relationship between Da Nang and the Netherlands has been developing well, investment cooperation between both sides is still limited. Therefore, Da Nang City wishes that, in the near future, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City and DBAV will introduce more Dutch businesses to learn about investment opportunities in Da Nang.
In the coming time, Da Nang City will give priority to attracting investment in high-tech and environmentally friendly fields, especially in the projects of Lien Chieu Port, the expansion of Da Nang Airport, airport urban, and in the field of environment from the world’s leading potential partners with modern management qualifications, including Dutch partners. The city is committed to supporting and most favorably facilitating Dutch businesses to cooperate and invest in Da Nang.

At the meeting, both sides discussed and agreed to step up cooperation with specific activities on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and the Netherlands and exchanged investment cooperation opportunities in the field of tourism and investment in seaports, airports, smart cities, etc; simultaneously, introduced some Dutch businesses wishing to expand their business in Da Nang in the fields of seaport development, finance, infrastructure development, renewable energy, and high-quality, energy-saving lighting service.
Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City affirmed that Da Nang was an attractive destination for investors. In his position, Mr. Daniel Stock will support, connect, and bring Dutch businesses to visit and work in Da Nang City, promoting cooperation with Da Nang City in many potential fields of both sides.
In 2021, Da Nang’s export turnover to Europe reached 290 million USD. Import turnover from Europe was estimated at 138 million USD. Main export items included textile, aquatic, and handicraft products. Main imported goods included textile raw materials and other raw materials. Currently, there are 6 Dutch FDI companies operating in Da Nang City with a total investment capital of about 490,000 USD.
