On the morning of June 6th, Routes Asia 2022 officially commenced in Da Nang City, Viet Nam. Attending the opening ceremony were Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City’s Party Committee, Chairman of the City’s People’s Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet; Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh; Vice Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Son; Mr. Steven Small, Brand Director of Informa Routes; Mr. Phillip Nguyen, General Director of IPP Travel Retail; General Director of the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh; Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam Dinh Viet Thang.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh emphasized: “The hosting of Routes Asia 2022 - the most prestigious aviation development forum in the region, not only positions Da Nang as the destination of events but also demonstrates the city’s strong determination in restoring the airline network and its tourism economy.”
“We set a target within two years from 2022 to restore aviation as it was before COVID-19, especially connecting Da Nang with important aviation hubs such as the US, Europe, and the Middle East. At the same time, we continue to promote new routes to potential markets in India and Southeast Asia.”
As the host of Routes Asia 2022, Mr. Steven Small, Brand Director of Informa Routes shared: “Despite ongoing travel restrictions still being in place, we are proud that we have been able to bring together so many members of the Asia Pacific aviation and tourism community to meet in Da Nang City and exchange solutions to restore the flight network, creating long-term economic benefits for the region.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Routes Asia 2022, the delegates visited the booths at the Asia Aviation and Tourism Exhibition, and participated in face-to-face business networking meetings scheduled in advance on Routes Asia’s system and conferences and seminars taking place throughout the event from June 6th to June 8th, 2022.
Routes Asia 2022 will be a powerful catalyst and inspiration for the city to realize its goal of restoring the international flight network, facilitating tourists, businesses, and investors to return to Da Nang. Thereby, Da Nang will be connected with important aviation hubs and markets as far away as the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East; while new routes are promoted to potential markets in Southeast Asia, India, and Oceania.
