The City’s leaders received a high-ranking delegation of the Lao Women’s Union

On the afternoon of July 1st, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang chaired a meeting with a high-level delegation of the Lao Women’s Union led by Ms. Inlavan Keobounphan, Member of the Central Committee of the LPRP, President of the Lao Women’s Union during their courtesy visit to the City’s leaders. Also attending were Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Viet Nam Women’s Union Ha Thi Nga and Vice Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen.

Secretary Nguyen Van Quang expressed his delight to welcome the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Women’s Union to visit Da Nang. This visit is greatly significant, taking place in the context that Viet Nam and Laos consider 2022 as the Viet Nam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year, celebrating two important historical events, namely the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Viet Nam and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

Secretary Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that this is one of the first high-ranking delegations of Laos to visit Da Nang, which shows that the relationship between Viet Nam and Laos in general, Da Nang and Lao localities in particular have always been great, forever flourishing, and eternally sustainable.

Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said this meeting with the delegation is also one of the important premises for the city leaders’ visit and work with 5 localities in South and Central Laos the following day (July 2nd). During this work visit, both sides would closely evaluate cooperation programs in the past time and discuss cooperation plans for the 2023-2027 period. An MOU on cooperation between Da Nang and 5 Lao localities for the 2023-2027 period is expected to be signed. Secretary Nguyen Van Quang expressed his belief and hope that in the coming time, the Women’s Unions of both countries would continue to promote the good tradition and enhance exchanges of lessons and experiences and staff training; jointly organize well the activities of the “Viet Nam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022”, thereby contributing to further deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam - Laos in general and Da Nang - Laos localities in particular.

On behalf of the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Women’s Union, Ms. Inlavan Keobounphan expressed her joy at the warm welcome of the City’s leaders; at the same time, she briefly summarized the results of cooperation between women of both countries in the past time and orientation in the coming time.

Ms. Inlavan Keobounphan affirmed that the Lao Women’s Union has always worked closely with the Viet Nam Women’s Union to strengthen cooperation and friendship, contributing to the consolidation and improvement of the special solidarity relationship between Laos and Viet Nam.

Ms. Inlavan Keobounphan pledged to maintain and promote the achievements, contributing to increasingly enhancing the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in general and Da Nang with the provinces of South - Central Laos in particular effectively and substantively, bringing practical benefits to the people and women of both countries.
