From July 14th to 17th, at East Sea Park, the Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2022 will take place. This is an activity to enhance understanding and cultural exchange between Viet Nam and Japan in general, deepen the friendly relationship between Da Nang and Japanese localities and partners in particular through cultural exchange and cooperation activities in many fields, towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan (September 21st, 1973 - September 21st, 2023).


The first Japan Doll Art Exhibition was held at Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2022

Within the framework of the festival, there will be the following activities: 80 Vietnamese-Japanese food and goods stalls; Children’s Painting Exhibition with the theme “The World Through the Eyes of Vietnamese - Japanese Children”, Japanese Doll Art Exhibition, football games between Da Nang children and Kawasaki Frontale Club, and the Japanese Art of Tea Ceremony from Sakai City.

Along with those activities, there will be a cosplay contest and classes in calligraphy and Origami art. This kind of art is no longer just a game for children but also a hobby for adults in Japan. The creation of Origami patterns has been turned into a subject in some parts of the world, helping to form creative and logical thinking.
The festival’s opening ceremony will take place at 7pm on July 14th. Citizens and visitors will enjoy elaborately choreographed performances with a variety of Vietnamese and Japanese cultural repertoires such as the introduction of Tuong art, performance of ao dai combined with kimono, dance performance of the Co Tu people, Kendo and Vovinam martial arts, etc. with the return of singer and dancer Meik and Japanese artists.

In addition, the program also has seminars on “Tourism in Japan - Networking Viet Nam - Japan travel agencies” and “Information about studying in Japan” with the participation of representatives of Hokkaido University, University of Tsukuba, Yokohama National University, Okayama University, Kyushu University, Tokyo International University, International University of Japan, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, etc. The seminar aims to provide information related to studying in Japan, higher education, and promotion of study in Japan so that Vietnamese students wishing to study abroad can choose the right school and study abroad effectively.
