Continue to strengthen cooperation between the United States and Da Nang in many fields

On the afternoon of August 26th, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the City’s Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang and Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh had a meeting with US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc E. Knapper on the occasion of his working visit to Da Nang.

*Receiving US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc E. Knapper at the City’s Party Committee, Secretary Nguyen Van Quang affirmed the achievements in the cooperation relationship between both sides in recent years, especially the trust and affection of the Ambassador to the city has been an important foundation for the cooperation relationship between Da Nang and the United States to continue to reap many successes, namely in the field of education and training of high-quality human resources, as well as more US investors coming to Da Nang.

Secretary Nguyen Van Quang said that Da Nang always appreciates and welcomes US investors to the city, especially in fields of IT and hi-tech.

US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc E. Knapper affirmed the important role and position of Da Nang in the bilateral cooperation relationship between the US and Viet Nam. According to the Ambassador, Da Nang is a great city in terms of scenery, nature, culture, and people as well as potential for investment cooperation opportunities for US businesses.

The Ambassador highly appreciated Da Nang’s efforts in enhancing cooperation between both sides in various fields ranging from trade and investment to cultural and people-to-people exchanges. At the same time, he expected that in the coming time, both sides would continue to have more effective connections and cooperation in many more fields, especially education.

*Receiving Ambassador Marc E. Knapper at the City People’s Committee, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh expressed his belief that with his experience having worked in Viet Nam, in his new position, the Ambassador will successfully fulfill his duties, further contributing to the relationship between Viet Nam and the US in general and between Da Nang and the US in particular. At the same time, he hoped the Ambassador would promote the city’s image and call for investors to come to Da Nang. The city always has preferential mechanisms and policies and is committed to favorably facilitate investors.

Ambassador Marc E. Knapper expressed gratitude for the city government’s interest in US businesses’ investment in Da Nang and highly appreciated the training cooperation programs between the University of Da Nang and USAID.

Ambassador Marc E. Knapper said that there are many large US corporations wishing to expand their supply chains in Viet Nam and Da Nang will be a reliable destination.
