On October 7th, at the meeting with Mr. Shimo Hiroshi, Vice Governor of Wakayama Prefecture (Japan), Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh suggested the Wakayama Government would continue to introduce its businesses to survey and cooperate in investment in Da Nang. The city is ready to welcome and favorably facilitate businesses from Wakayama Prefecture to come and learn about the business investment environment.

At the meeting, Chairman Le Trung Chinh highly appreciated the visit of Vice Governor Shimo Hiroshi in Da Nang this time, and affirmed that the city highly values strengthening cooperation relations with Japanese localities to enhance trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.
In the context of the post-COVID-19 pandemic, the city’s economy is gradually recovering, with growth in the second quarter of 2022 reaching 12.37%, the first 6 months increasing by 7.23%, and budget revenue reaching nearly 70% compared to the estimate. The city has a stable production and business environment, advantages in geographical location and transportation system, abundant human resources, and a healthy living environment. Chairman Le Trung Chinh affirmed that Da Nang is one of the five major cities of Viet Nam, with great potential for developing hi-tech, IT, and especially tourism. The city will always consider, support, and most favorably facilitate in terms of policies to attract Japanese businesses in general and businesses from Wakayama Prefecture in particular to invest in Da Nang.
Currently, Da Nang City has many schools with cooperation programs with Japanese partners and universities. Chairman Le Trung Chinh hoped that Vice Governor Shimo Hiroshi would pay attention to introduce and connect schools of both sides in human resource training.
Sincerely thanking the city government for the warm welcome, Vice Governor Shimo Hiroshi said that the purpose of this visit to Da Nang is to promote trade and cooperation between Wakayama and Da Nang. Wakayama Prefecture is very interested in Da Nang, a city with great potential for future development. In particular, Wakayama’s businesses want to invest in the fields of digital, IT, and manufacturing technology.
In his position, Vice Governor of Wakayama Prefecture affirmed that he would be a bridge to promote investment promotion activities and economic cooperation in the fields of strength of both localities such as: commerce, tourism, food production and processing, hi-tech agriculture, and human resource training.
