On October 18th, at Da Nang International Airport, the opening ceremony of Da Nang - New Delhi and Da Nang - Mumbai (India) flights was held. Two direct flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to Da Nang operated by Vietjet Air officially commenced operations from October 18th.

Flight no. VJ984 departed Mumbai at 11:30PM on October 17th and landed in Da Nang at 6:10AM on October 18th. At the same time of 11:30PM, flight no. VJ830 departed from New Delhi on October 18th and land in Da Nang at 5:40AM the next day. These are the first two flights marking an important milestone in connecting Da Nang.
Using the same Airbus A320 aircraft, the Mumbai - Da Nang route is operated by Vietjet Air with a frequency of 3 flights/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and the New Delhi - Da Nang route with a frequency of 4 flights/week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Following 2 direct routes from New Delhi and Mumbai (India) to Da Nang, Vietjet Air plans to open more direct flights to Ahmedabad in December 2022 to diversely connect markets of visitors in major cities of India.
According to Vice Chairman of the City’s People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Son, the city government, along with the companionship of businesses, airlines, and press agencies have strived to successfully organize large-scale and international events, such as Routes Asia 2022 and Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival 2022; at the same time, deployed many promotion and communication activities to markets Europe, Korea, Singapore, India, and Japan to restore international routes.
In the first nine months of 2022, the total number of international flights to Da Nang reached more than 2,100 with more than 280,000 passengers and more international routes are expected to be restored by the end of the year.

The tourism potential of Da Nang in particular and the Central Region in general is very suitable for the tastes of Indian tourists. With a beautiful coastline and high-class resorts as well as increasingly perfect and attractive tourism products, in recent years, Indian tourists have gradually come to know the coastal city of Da Nang as a destination of high-class trips and the wedding venue of Indian billionaires.
“The opening ceremony of the Da Nang-Mumbai route with a frequency of 3 flights/week and Da Nang-New Delhi route with a frequency of 4 flights/week today is of great importance in contributing to the growth of international tourists to Da Nang, especially the potential market of India with 1.4 billion people,” Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son affirmed.
