After 6 months of construction, the upgraded Champasak Provincial Friendship Primary School was completed and handed over to the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province as witnessed by representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Education and Sports of Champasak Province and the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Pakse.
The project is a gift from Da Nang City to the Vietnamese Association of Champasak Province with a 2-storey structure including 6 classrooms, 1 teacher's room, the office of the Vietnamese Association, and equipment including tables, chairs, and blackboards at a total investment of 7 billion VND.
At the handover ceremony Mr. Dong Cong Dung, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Champasak, sincerely thanked Da Nang City for presenting the Association with this meaningful gift. The opening of the school is the pride of the Vietnamese people in Champasak Province, a place to study not only for Vietnamese children but also for children from neighboring regions. At the same time, this is also a venue where Vietnamese people can gather, share, and remember their homeland together.
It is hoped that Champasak Friendship Primary School will continue to be a place to preserve and promote Vietnamese language and culture to Lao friends in Champasak and act as a connecting bridge for the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos and between Da Nang City and Champasak Province.
