On the evening of January 13th, the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District held the opening ceremony of the Tet Festival for the Year of the Cat 2023. The festival takes place until January 15th. Attending were Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh and Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee Duong Dinh Lieu.
Tet Festival 2023 is a large-scale cultural event organized for the first time by the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District to promote the image of Hoa Vang, recreate the traditional cultural space, attract tourists and local people to visit and experience spring activities, and welcome the traditional Tet holiday.
The event takes place in 3 main areas including: Hoa Vang District Administrative Center; Quang Xuong Street; and Tuy Loan Night Street.

Coming to the New Year Festival, visitors can truly experience the old space of the New Year with restored, traditional houses decorated with special elements to welcome the traditional New Year; participate in games such as the singing hut, singing bingo, throwing cans, throwing rings, and many other folk games of Tet holiday; and enjoy demonstrations from traditional culinary craft villages, calligraphy, and couplet writing by masters.
The organizers also set up shopping stalls for Tet products, OCOP goods, processed foods, handicraft products, textiles, fashion, commercial products, consumer goods, and ornamental flowers.
In addition to sightseeing and shopping, visitors can also enjoy delicious dishes with Tet flavours, watch the contest "Cooking Chung cake and Tet cake" and "Finding artistic talent", and other nightly performances.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Hoa Vang District People's Committee Phan Van Ton affirmed: "The Year of the Cat Tet Festival 2023 will mark a new festival activity in preserving and promoting traditional Tet culture of Hoa Vang people in particular and Vietnamese Tet in general, which contributes to the conservation and development of local traditional culture.
Hoa Vang District believes that the Vietnamese New Year Festival will make a good impression, meeting the needs of a large number of tourists and residents to enjoy traditional art, sightseeing, exchanging, entertainment, and shopping. Especially, through this festival, the District will maintain and develop the scale and quality of future local festivals making the Vietnamese Tet Festival a tradition of Hoa Vang District in the coming years.
