On the morning of March 21, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh had a meeting with Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam Oh Young Ju.
Mr. Le Trung Chinh welcomed Ms. Oh Young Ju and the Embassy delegation on the Ambassador’s first visit to Da Nang.
Mr. Chinh affirmed the strong, cooperative relationship between Viet Nam and Korea. In particular, Da Nang has established friendly and cooperative relations with 3 localities in Korea including Changwon, Daegu, and Hwaseong, which has laid the foundation for many effective cooperation programs in various fields.
Da Nang is home to My Khe Beach which was named one of the 6 most beautiful beaches in the world in by Forbes magazine. Its natural conditions, well-developed transportation infrastructure, and diverse local cuisine have attracted many Korean tourists. Before COVID-19, Koreans ranked 1st in terms of foreign tourist arrivals in Da Nang.
“The potential for Korean localities to cooperate with Da Nang City is still very significant. Da Nang hopes that Ambassador Oh Young Ju will continue to promote the image of Da Nang to Korean investors and people. On our side, we are committed to giving our best support and creating the best conditions for Korean investors to explore investment opportunities and for Korean citizens to travel to Da Nang”,Mr. Chinh said.

Ms. Oh Young Ju expressed her good impression of the beauty as well as the potentials and advantages of Da Nang. The Ambassador stated that, in addition to tourism, information technology is another key area for the two sides to develop together.
Ambassador Oh also visited the Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology and was very impressed with the University’s achievements and contributions. Ms. Oh wished that the University would continue to develop training activities, especially for information technology majors, in order to meet the human resource needs of the two sides and help to promote the relationship between Da Nang and Korea.
On investment promotion, Ambassador Oh said that the Korean Embassy is working closely with KOICA to review the operation of Korean businesses in Viet Nam. The Embassy would closely assist and provide information to businesses which will further promote the investment environment of Da Nang.
“In order to really encourage Korean businesses to invest more strongly, I also hope thatDa Nangwill focus on solving the difficulties that Korean businesses are facing,consider more convenient visa procedures, and create favorable conditions for more Korean tourists to travel to Da Nang”, said Ambassador Oh.
Chairman Le Trung Chinh confirmed that Da Nang would fully assist Korean businesses and solve the difficulties that investors are facing. The City hoped that Ambassador Oh Young Ju would encourage Korean investors to support and find opportunities to develop together with Da Nang City.
