On March 26, the direct flight between Narita (Japan) and Da Nang operated by Vietnam Airlines officially resumed with flight VN319 from Narita bringing nearly 180 passengers to Da Nang.
The event to welcome the first direct flight from Narita to Da Nang was held at Da Nang International Terminal with the participation of the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, the Department of Tourism, the Central Airport Authority, Da Nang International Airport, and Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company.
The passengers were greeted with a traditional Japanese Yosakoi dance and the lively performance "Great Da Nang". On this occasion, Vietnam Airlines offered 3 round-trip tickets from Narita to Da Nang to 3 lucky passengers on the flight.

According to Da Nang Department of Tourism, Japan is a key market for Da Nang’s tourism sector. In 2019, Japanese visitors to Da Nang reached more than 183,000 arrivals, an increase of nearly 200% compared to 2015. Since Viet Nam fully opened to international tourism in March 2022, Da Nang has welcomed about 27,000 Japanese visitors.
According to Vietnam Airlines, from March 26 to June 30 the Narita - Da Nang flight route will operate with a frequency of 4 flights per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Starting July 1 Vietnam Airlines plans to fly daily with a frequency of 7 flights per week to encourage tourism and trade exchange between Japan and central Viet Nam.
