British athlete Christoper Frederick Mascarenhas-Keyes and Italian athlete Krisztina Vaczi emerged victorious at the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam. On the evening of May 7th in Da Nang, the organizers of the international triathlon event VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam announced the athletes who had achieved high results in the competition.
In the men’s IRONMAN 70.3, which consists of three disciplines with a total distance of 112.9km (equivalent to 70.3 miles), including a 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21km run, British athlete Christoper Frederick Mascarenhas-Keyes finished first at 4:15:12. Second place went to Alexey Vshivtsev (Kazakhstan) with a time of 4:19:35, and third place went to Michael Cassinides (Australia) with a time of 4:22:39.
In the women's IRONMAN 70.3, Italian athlete Krisztina Vaczi took first place with a time of 5:02:05, followed by Bianca Marcon (Brazil) in second place with a time of 5:03:24, and Lindsay Nickel (USA) in third place with a time of 5:05:32.
The organizers awarded prizes to both professional and amateur athletes who achieved high results in the competition and announced 34 spots for the 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Finland.
The VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam took place in Da Nang from May 4th to May 7th, with over 3,000 athletes participating. The event was organized by Sunrise Events Vietnam (SEV) in collaboration with the Da Nang Department of Culture and Sports. In addition to the main IRONMAN 70.3 race, the program also included side events such as the SUNRISE SPRINT, IRONKIDS, and the Newborns Vietnam Run Out charity run.
