Spring Fair 2014 opens in Da Nang320 stands from 150 enterprises and units are displaying their products at the Da Nang Spring Fair 2014 which began yesterday (16 January). 90 of the enterprises and units are from Da Nang, whilst 55 from other cities and provinces across the country, 4 from Thailand’s Khon Kaen and Ubon provinces, and the remaining one from Cambodia.

Construction of Da Nang–Quang Ngai Expressway Project Package No 1 BeginsOn 8 March, the Viet Nam Expressway Corporation (VEC) cooperated with the contractors to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for Package No 1 of the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway Construction Project at Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District.

Spring Fair 2014 to open on 16 JanuaryThe Spring Fair 2014 will be held at the Da Nang Fair and Exhibition Centre at No 9 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street from 16 to 22 January. The Trade Promotion and Information Centre reported that 320 stands of 150 enterprises and units from Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Thailand’s Khon Kaen and Ubon provinces have registered for the Fair so far.

India Dance Performance in Da NangA classical dance performance by Sangeet Natak Academy was held at Trung Vuong Theatre on 11 March. The event was one of the ongoing activities of the “Festival of India 2014’ in Viet Nam with an aim at promoting cultural links between the two countries.

Commanders' Forum 3 opens in Da NangThe third annual Commander's Forum – Gulf of Thailand Maritime Enforcement Interoperability Initiative, hosted by the Viet Nam Marine Police, took place in the city on 14 January. Representatives from the marine police and maritime law enforcement agencies of four countries operating in the Gulf of Thailand, comprising Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand and Viet Nam, attended.

Intensification of Comprehensive Cooperation with SingaporeChairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr. Van Huu Chien recently met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Viet Nam, Mr. Teck Hean, and the delegation from the Singaporean naval ship, the RSS Resolution, within the framework of the ship’s visit to the city from 4 to 7 March.

Get-together for expatriates for Lunar New Year 2014On 17 January in celebration of Lunar New Year 2014, the year of the Horse, the Da Nang People's Committee met with and praised the expatriates who are living, working and studying in the city. The Chairman of Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien, expressed his sincere gratitude, and recognised the great contribution made by foreign individuals and organisations to the city’s development. He affirmed that the city authorities would create every favourable conditions to facilitate foreign-invested projects in Da Nang.

Series of cultural activities to welcome New Year 2014Many activities and events will be held on the final days of this year to welcome the New Year 2014. The Viet Nam Brewery Limited Company (VBL) will host a New Year celebrations programme at the Eastern Sea Park from 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs on 21 December. The event will involve performance by DJ Mike Rute, a fashion show, and procession of decorated vehicles on Pham Van Dong Street and Hoang Sa Street.

Da Nang to have Marina Complex“Da Nang Marina”, a complex comprising a tourist boat wharf and a marina for receiving trip boats and private yachts will be constructed at the area on the eastern side of the Han River. A meeting for discussing this project took place on 9 December with the attendance of the Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Van Huu Chien; representatives of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and DHC Investment Joint-Stock Company, the investor of the project.

39th ASEAN Insurance Council Meeting opens in Da NangThe 16th ASEAN Insurance Regulators’ Meeting (AIRM 16) and the 39th ASEAN Insurance Council Meeting (AIC 39) opened in the city on 5 December. In attendance were more than 200 representatives from ASEAN countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, and leader representatives of ministries and branches of the host country Viet Nam.
