Cooperation Established between Da Nang and France in Education - Training and CultureA Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to officially establish cooperation in education – training and culture between the Embassy of the Republic of France in Viet Nam and the Da Nang People’s Committee (DPC) was signed recently in the city by the DPC’s Chairman, Mr. Huynh Duc Tho, and Ambassador Jean Noel Poirier.

Da Nang Wins FT/IFC’s Special Award for “Excellence in City Transformation”Da Nang was awarded with the Special Award for the “Excellence in City Transformation” category by the Financial Times (FT) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, at a special awards ceremony held in London, the U.K. on 12th June. The event followed the 2015 Transformational Business Conference organised by the FT and IFC.

New Dutch Ambassador Visits Da NangVice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr. Phung Tan Viet recently met with the delegation of the Dutch Embassy in Ha Noi and Consulate General in HCM City led by the new Dutch Ambassador to Viet Nam, Ms. Catharina Maria Trooster. The visiting guests also included representatives of Dutch enterprises who are making investments in infrastructure construction, maritime services, healthcare, lighting and project consultancy in Viet Nam.

Da Nang Hosts Mekong Tourism Forum 2015On 18th June, the Mekong Tourism Symposium took place in Da Nang with the participation of international tourism experts, representatives of national tourism agencies, tourism-based businesses and hotels of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS). The event was part of the Mekong Tourism Forum 2015, themed “Unlocking the potential of Mekong tourism via innovative partnerships”, which was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Viet Nam in the city from 15th to 18th June.

Da Nang Listed in Top 10 Inexpensive Destinations for Summer 2015Viet Nam’s Da Nang has been named as one of the top ten inexpensive holiday getaways for this summer in the list recently released by Skyscanner, the world’s leading travel search site, providing instant online comparisons for millions of flights on over a thousand airlines, as well as car hire and hotels. Skyscanner’s list also included Malaga (Spain), Ibiza (Spain), Algarve (Portugal), Pula (Croatia), Nice (France), Antalya (Turkey), Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt), Bali (Indonesia), and Orlando (Florida, U.S.A.).

“Colour Me Run 2015” to Take Place on 27th JuneThe “Colour Me Run 2015” will be held at the Asian Park (One Phan Dang Luu Street) on 27th June. The information was recently announced by the Da Nang People’s Committee. It is anticipated that more than 5,000 competitors including students, white-collar workers, expatriates in Viet Nam, tourists, individuals and groups who love running, will join the event.
