Maintaining the appeal of Da Nang's beach tourism
Although October is drawing to a close, the beaches in Da Nang continue to attract large numbers of locals and tourists for swimming, exercising, and relaxing early every morning. The vitality of the sea remains an advantage for the city to develop tourism year-round.
The appeal of Da Nang's beaches in October
As the city wakes up, the beaches along the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa route begin to bustle.
Groups of locals and tourists go down to the sea to swim, walk along the sandy shore, exercise, or sit and relax while watching the sunrise. This atmosphere remains present in October, a time when the Central region typically enters the rainy season and experiences volatile weather.
This year, with favorable weather, early morning sun still dyes Da Nang's beaches gold, creating a warm feeling for visitors amidst gentle waves.
At the swimming areas, foreign tourists blending into the morning daily routine of local residents create a unique feature of Da Nang's beach tourism.
Although October is passing, Da Nang's beaches still attract many local residents and tourists to swim, exercise, and watch the sunrise from early morning.
Many people take advantage of the early hours to go into the water before starting their daily schedule; others choose to stroll, exercise on the sand, or admire the sea scenery in an open space.
Although it is no longer the peak season for beach tourism, the number of people present at the beaches in the morning during favorable weather shows that the sea remains a familiar living space for residents and a favorite experience for visitors coming to the city.
David Miller, 32, from Melbourne (Australia), shared: "I really like Da Nang's beaches because they have beautiful shores, wide sandbanks, and an open space. In the morning, walking on the sand, watching the sunrise, and enjoying the fresh air is a wonderful experience. I am also impressed by the marine landscape and wish to have more time to enjoy this place."
For many international tourists, morning swimming is not only a relaxing activity but also a way to explore local rhythms. Instead of just visiting famous destinations, they can spend time immersing themselves in the marine space, observing the daily life of residents, and enjoying simple moments during their trip.
Emily Carter, 27, from London (UK), said that going to the beach in the morning is one of her favorite things when visiting Da Nang.
"The beach is wide and has space for walking, jogging, or sitting to relax. I love the feeling of watching the ocean at the beginning of the day, then returning for breakfast and continuing to explore the city. This is a simple experience but makes the vacation memorable," Emily shared.

Not only international guests, but many domestic tourists also take advantage of the morning time to enjoy the sea before visiting other destinations. Convenience of access, natural landscapes, and the ability to combine relaxation with sports and entertainment activities make the beach an important part of visitors' itineraries.
Nguyen Thu Ha, 29, a tourist from Hanoi, said she chose to go swimming early to enjoy the fresh air and avoid the heat of the day.
"I like the atmosphere of Da Nang's beach in the morning; it is both airy and features many people exercising, walking, and swimming together. Even though I came in October, the weather was favorable, so I spent time at the beach before starting my sightseeing schedule," Thu Ha shared.
From swimming and walking to playing sports on the sand, Da Nang's marine space is meeting the rest needs of visitors and the daily lives of residents. This is also an advantage for the city to continue developing beach tourism toward diversified experiences, not focusing solely on the peak summer months.
Upgrading service quality
According to Mr. Phan Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches, in the first 9 months of 2026, the city served about 15.86 million visitor arrivals at accommodation establishments, an increase of 26.4% compared to the same period last year. Among them, international visitors reached about 7.73 million arrivals, up 28.7%.
This result shows that the appeal of Da Nang tourism continues to be maintained. In particular, the sea is not only a landscape resource but also an experiential space closely linked to urban life, contributing to creating the unique character of the destination.
Mr. Hai said that over the past period, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches has maintained and refreshed a series of activities within the framework of the Beach Tourism Season Opening program.
SUP paddling activities add a diverse sports experience for visitors when coming to Da Nang's sea
In 2026 alone, the program themed "Bright Summer" includes 19 activities, focusing on beach sports, cuisine, culture, entertainment, and experiential content, contributing to enriching activities at the beaches.
Alongside seasonal events, improving service quality is emphasized to meet the needs of residents and visitors year-round. According to the Management Board's orientation, 14 fast-food cart locations and 6 food stalls have been organized for auction, selecting operators, and gradually put into operation along the Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa route according to the approved plan.
In 2027 and subsequent phases, the city will continue to implement beach service items, aiming to diversify types of recreation, entertainment, sports, cuisine, cinema, and event organization. Seasonal activities such as check-in spaces, night art, Christmas cultural-entertainment programs, New Year welcomes, and community sports events are also oriented for development to create more experiences for visitors.
Along with product diversification, ensuring safety for swimmers is always a consistent requirement. Rescue forces are deployed on regular duty, reinforced in high-risk areas and times, while guiding visitors to comply with safety regulations when participating in water activities.
According to the Management Board's data, as of September 2026, the rescue force has handled and safely rescued 41 cases, preventing any deaths from drowning. Security and order maintenance are also sustained through coordination between the Management Board, police forces, and local authorities. In 2026, functional forces detected and handled 10 theft cases involving 11 subjects, supported in finding and returning assets in 73 cases, and assisted 246 cases of lost relatives.
Environmental sanitation work continues to be carried out regularly. The Management Board also reviews and improves the quality of amenities serving visitors, while proposing the construction of new public restrooms to gradually better meet needs in densely populated areas.

Mr. Phan Minh Hai added that the unit's orientation is not only to attract large crowds to the beach but also to build a safe, clean, convenient, and experiential marine space. Through this, Da Nang's sea not only serves swimming needs but gradually becomes a cultural, sports, entertainment, and community living space year-round.
In the coming time, along with continuing to improve service quality, the city will coordinate to implement new products and services according to a roadmap, organizing cultural, artistic, sports, and event activities suitable for each season. Year-end holidays, Christmas, and New Year celebrations are expected to bring more vitality to the marine space, contributing to maintaining appeal even outside the peak season.
Combining landscape exploitation with safety assurance, environmental preservation, and service quality enhancement will help residents enjoy the sea every day, thereby creating more reasons for domestic and international tourists to seek out, discover, and return to the city.

Not only attractive for its landscapes and beach experiences, Da Nang also leaves a mark in tourists' hearts through beautiful actions. Previously, on October 19, during their honeymoon in Da Nang, a Spanish couple unfortunately dropped their wedding ring at the bottom of My Khe beach while swimming. After days of searching, Mr. Phan Thanh Trinh, a member of the Beach Tourism Order Management Team, found the ring and traveled over 1,000 km to Phu Quoc to hand it directly to the visitors. Not just a story of recovering an asset of special spiritual value, Mr. Trinh's action also demonstrates responsibility, sincerity, and the spirit of supporting tourists through concrete actions, thereby contributing to building Da Nang's image as a safe, friendly destination where visitors can not only enjoy beautiful scenery but also feel the kindness and hospitality of Da Nang people. |
