Promote comprehensive cooperation with South Korea  

At the meeting with Mr. Han Jungil, the newly appointed Consul General of South Korea in Danang, on the occasion of his assumption of the new role, Lê Ngọc Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Head of the National Assembly delegation for Danang, expressed his confidence that with his experience and in his new position, Mr. Han Jungil will continue to sustain his role as an important bridge, contributing to the advancement of friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea in general, and between Danang and South Korean localities and partners in particular.

Both sides agreed to continue strengthening connections between the authorities, businesses, and organizations; and to promote cooperation in key areas such as investment, trade, innovation, high technology, digital transformation, education and training, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Mr. Han Jungil affirmed that he will closely coordinate with the city’s agencies, utilizing his role as the Korean Consulate General in Danang to connect localities, businesses, and people on both sides, contributing to the development of Vietnam-Korea cooperation in general, and between Danang and its Korean partners in particular, in a more in-depth, substantive, and effective manner.

Earlier, the newly appointed Consul General of South Korea in Danang paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng; the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh and presented the Consular Approval Letter to the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, requested that the Consul General of South Korea share experiences on the development of the semiconductor industry and the model of free trade zones; assist in connecting South Korean technology groups and enterprises to research and survey investment in Danang, especially in the fields of high technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and innovation.

The new Consul General affirmed that he will strive to serve as a bridge to promote cooperation between Danang and localities, businesses, and organizations of South Korea, contributing to the enhancement of collaboration in the fields of investment, trade, tourism, education, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges in the near future. In addition, he expressed the desire to closely coordinate with the City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to implement numerous practical exchange and cooperation activities, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea.

Finals of the 2026 Military, Martial Arts, and Public Security Sports Festival

On the evening of August 1, at East Sea Park (An Hải Ward), the Ministry of Public Security inaugurated the Final Round of the Military, Martial Arts, and Sports Games of the People's Public Security (PPS) for 2026.

With the participation of more than 4,700 athletes, over 2,200 officers and soldiers, along with many special performance programs, this is the largest sports festival ever organized by the PPS, contributing to promoting the image of officers who are courageous, elite, modern, and devoted to serving the people.

Immediately following the opening ceremony was a nearly one-hour program showcasing the force and performing arts, military demonstrations, and martial arts, with the participation of over 2,000 officers and soldiers from units under the Ministry of Public Security.

The Final Round of the Military, Martial Arts, and Sports Games of the PPS 2026 is taking place from July 29 to August 7, featuring 65 competitive events in military, martial arts, and sports disciplines. This is not only a platform to evaluate the training quality and physical fitness of the PPS forces but also an opportunity to enhance exchange, learn, and promote the image of police officers who are professional, elite, modern, close to the people, while serving the public.

Expand cooperation with U.S. partners across multiple fields  

At the meeting with Ms. Melissa Brown, Consul General of the United States in Hồ Chí Minh City, and Rear Admiral Eric Anduze, Commander of the U.S. Navy's Carrier Strike Group 5, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi emphasized that this is the fourth time a U.S. aircraft carrier has visited Vietnam, and all four visits have been organized in Danang, affirming the city's role in the Vietnam-U.S. cooperative relationship.

Danang is expecting to continue expanding cooperation with U.S. partners through practical, effective, and mutually beneficial projects. At the same time, the city trusts that, with the support of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate General, the cooperative relationship between Danang and U.S. partners will continue to develop strongly in trade, investment, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Danang is ready to serve as a bridge, facilitating the two countries' naval forces to further expand cooperation, training, and experience sharing, contributing to ensuring freedom of navigation, security, and maritime safety in the region and worldwide.

Ms. Melissa Brown assessed the visit of the Carrier Strike Group 5 as a meaningful activity in strengthening the Vietnam – United States Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, while expressing confidence that Danang will continue to be a leading locality in promoting cooperation with U.S. partners, particularly in the fields of economy, investment, education, and people-to-people exchange.

Strengthen connections and expand investment cooperation in strategic sectors with European countries 

Within the framework of the investment promotion program in Europe, the Danang city delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thái Bình, conducted numerous collaborations with agencies, organizations, and the business community in Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic to strengthen connections, expand investment and trade cooperation, and technology transfer.

In Germany, the delegation held meetings with the German Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (BVMW), the German business community, and the Kärcher Group, discussing the development of the industrial ecosystem, human resources, and business networking. The city invited German investors to participate in sectors such as the International Financial Center, the Free Trade Zone, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), high technology, logistics, digital transformation, green energy, and innovation.

In the Republic of Austria, the delegation visited the Embassy of Vietnam, held discussions with Austrian businesses, and worked with the Austrian Development Agency (AED), the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO), and the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). The city side introduced investment opportunities in the Vietnam International Financial Center in Danang, the Free Trade Zone, the High-Tech Park, the Concentrated Information Technology Zone, industrial parks, and the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone; at the same time, it proposed strengthening cooperation in technology transfer, human resource training, and sustainable development.

Representatives of Austrian partners highly valued the development potential of Danang, especially the orientation toward high-tech industries, digital transformation, the green economy, and modern infrastructure.

In the Czech Republic, the delegation worked with the Federation of Industry and Transport alongside the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic; in this context, it proposed support in connecting businesses and attracting investment in high technology, processing and manufacturing industries, logistics, energy, and innovation.

The Czech partners affirmed that they would continue to strengthen connections, contributing to the promotion of increasingly effective economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two sides.

Promote medical cooperation and technology transfer  

The 2026 International Scientific Conference of Inter-Hospital Collaboration with the theme "Evidence-Based Medicine from a Multidimensional Perspective" officially opened in Danang on the morning of August 1st.

The conference, organized by Danang Hospital in collaboration with Hanoi Medical University Hospital and many major hospitals across the country, took place over two days on August 1st and 2^nd and gathered experts, scientists, and doctors from various countries in the region. The program included nearly 200 specialized lectures, scientific reports, satellite workshops, professional discussion sessions, and a competition for Outstanding Young Reporters.

The conference content focused on the fields of surgery, internal medicine - interventional, cardiology, neurology, oncology, organ transplantation, critical care, diagnostic imaging, nursing, clinical nutrition, and the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare. The highlight of the conference was the surgical and interventional sessions broadcast live from operating rooms and intervention rooms, featuring many advanced techniques such as Da Vinci robotic surgery in urology, CORI robotic knee replacement, endoscopic spinal surgery, congenital heart interventions, and complex coronary artery interventions.

On this occasion, the City People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to Dr. Tsai Chien-Sung, former Director of Tri-Service Hospital (Taiwan, China), in recognition of his contributions to cooperation and professional medical development with the city.

Ngọc Linh Ginseng – The essence of global medicinal herbs  

With the theme "Ngọc Linh Ginseng - The Quintessence of World Medicinal Herbs," the Ngọc Linh Ginseng and International Medicinal Herb Festival in Danang 2026 is taking place from August 1 to 3 at the center of Danang city and the Ngọc Linh Ginseng raw material region.

The exhibition space for Ngọc Linh ginseng and medicinal herbs will feature 80 booths introducing products made from ginseng, medicinal herbs, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and processing technology. The organizers will recreate the Ngọc Linh Ginseng forest ecosystem to allow residents and visitors to experience the raw material region and the ecological value of this precious medicinal herb.

Within the framework of the festival, there will also be an international scientific conference "Ngọc Linh Ginseng - From National Product to Global Brand," an international trade connection program, a tour to experience the Ngọc Linh ginseng cultivation area, a culinary space "Flavor of the Great Forests," the program "One Million Cups of Ginseng Tea - Spreading the Essence of Ngọc Linh," along with the Ngọc Linh Ginseng Golf Tournament, with the participation of more than 200 golfers...

Groundbreaking of Hòa Ninh Industrial Park with a total investment of over VND 6,200 billion

Thanh Bình Phú Mỹ Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Project on Construction and Business Infrastructure of Hòa Ninh Industrial Park (Phú Mỹ 3 Danang IP) in Bà Nà commune.

The project covers an area of 400.02 hectares, with a total investment of 6,204 billion VND, and is oriented to become an ecological, modern industrial park, serving as an important link in the production, logistics, and trade ecosystem of Danang city, contributing to enhancing the capacity to attract investment, especially high-quality FDI.

The Hòa Ninh Industrial Park project is expected to create breakthrough values that drive new development momentum for the Northwest area of Danang.

In parallel with Hòa Ninh Industrial Park, Thanh Bình Phú Mỹ Joint Stock Company is also the investor of Phú Mỹ 3 Danang FTZ Industrial Park at Production Site No. 4 within the Danang Free Trade Zone. The project covers an area of 335 hectares, with a total investment of 5,338 billion VND, and was granted an Investment Registration Certificate on June 12, 2026.
