Da Nang Attracts 380 FDI Projects totalling 3.49 billion USD
The Da Nang Investment Promotion Centre reported that, as of 30 November this year, 380 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects had been effective with a total registered capital of 3.49 billion USD. They comprised 288 projects with a combined value of 2.4 billion USD outside industrial zones and accounting for 69.2% of total registered capital; 89 projects worth a total of over 975 million USD and inside industrial zones, representing 28.01%; a 32-million USD project at the IT Park; and two others together totalling 70 USD at the Hi-tech Park.
The 380 FDI projects included 25 in real estate and tourism, worth a total of 1.8 billion USD and accounting for 51.96%; 119 in manufacturing and processing, representing 33.78%; followed by education – training with 4.9% and construction with 2.7%.
Amongst countries and territories having investment in Da Nang, South Korea ranked top for total registered investment capital with its 20.95% share, together worth a total of 732 million USD. Following the South Koreans was Singapore with 20.78%, the British Virgin Islands with 18.1%, Japan with 11.08%, and the USA with 9.5%.
