From November 6 to 8, a city delegation led by the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee attended the East Asian Seas Congress and the 2024 PEMSEA Network of Local Governments for Sustainable Coastal Development (PNLG) Forum in Xiamen, China.
The PNLG network, officially established in 2006, is a member network of the Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA), comprising cities and provinces in the East Asian Seas region committed to implementing integrated coastal management and marine environmental protection activities.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam was elected as PNLG President on December 1, 2021. This is one of the notable results in Da Nang City's multilateral foreign affairs work recently.

At this Forum, Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam effectively fulfilled his role as PNLG President, reviewing and approving Yancheng City, China as an official PNLG member after 3 years as a provisional member; presenting a commemorative plaque to Xiamen City, China for its continuous contributions to PNLG over many years.
In his speeches at the joint learning session between PNLG and PNLC (PEMSEA Network of Learning Centers) and at the PNLG General Assembly, Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam emphasized the significance of cooperation and development between PNLG and PNLC in helping local governments in the East Asian region strengthen coastal management. He called for increased efforts from local governments to jointly maintain the integrity and safety of the East Asian Seas.
Da Nang has been a PNLG member since the network's first year (2006). For nearly 20 years, Da Nang City has accompanied and shared many experiences in marine environmental management while also learning valuable lessons from other network members in balancing marine ecology, coastal safety, tourism development, and effective marine economic exploitation, all while ensuring the marine environment contributes to the sustainable development of the locality.
