The leader of the city People's Committee works with the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks
In the afternoon of July 15, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh and the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thai Binh had a working session with the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam about the current operations and development orientation of the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (OEZ). Attending the meeting there were representatives of relevant departments and sectors.
Chu Lai OEZ currently has 14 established industrial parks covering a total area of over 3,400 ha and an additional planned area of about 1,145 ha. As of now, it has attracted 218 projects with a total registered capital of more than 87 trillion VND, including 53 FDI projects. However, many infrastructure projects still face difficulties with land clearance, high land prices, delayed land lease contracts, and rising production and logistics costs.
The Management Board suggested the city motion for the Central Government to elevate the legal framework regarding economic zones and industrial zones from decrees to laws; allowing the development of the Chu Lai OEZ project towards the establishment of a special administrative economic unit, extending to the southern bank of the Thu Bon River; while also reorganizing the compensation and land clearance regulations to create a clean land fund to attract investment.
the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh acknowledged the proposals and affirmed that the city will coordinate with relevant parties to review the nature and scale of the project in order to establish appropriate mechanisms and policies to attract investment. The city will continue to promote investment, resolve issues related to land, and ensure a stable and sustainable investment environment.

Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu highly praised Professor Dr. Harald Kuhn's proposals. He also affirmed that he would direct relevant departments, agencies, and units to plan and materialize these proposals.

Accompany and create conditions for startup projects to be implemented and piloted in practice.
On the afternoon of July 17, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu and the Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Pham Ngoc Sinh chaired a meeting with representatives of nurseries, investment funds, and startups in the area.
At the meeting, units such as the Da Nang Business Incubator, the FUNGO investment fund, and various startups mentioned many difficulties in accessing policies, technology infrastructure, and investment capital, and suggested that the city implement appropriate support policies according to each stage of development. The startup community also recommended that the city prioritize the use of startup products, allow the testing of new technology, encourage schools to establish startup funds for students, and create mechanisms to attract talent.
the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu appreciated the sense of responsibility and creativity of the startup community and committed that the city would create conditions for projects to be implemented and tested in a real environment. At the same time, he tasked the relevant units to consolidate proposals to suggest solutions.
This is an important milestone, demonstrating the commitment of the city leaders in accompanying the startup community, aiming to build an open, dynamic innovative ecosystem, putting enterprises at the center, creativity as the driving force, and collaboration as the foundation.
