Strengthening the Friendly Relations Between Vietnam and the Russian Federation
On the afternoon of May 12th, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi presided over a reception for Colonel Anciferov Alexey Vitalievich, Commander of the ship detachment of the Pacific Fleet, Russian Navy, who paid a courtesy visit to the city leaders.
At the reception, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi welcomed the commander, officers, and sailors of the ship detachment to visit Da Nang. She also extended congratulations to the officers, crew, and people of Russia on the occasion of Russia's commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War (May 9, 1945).
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that this visit by the commander, officers, and sailors of the ship detachment contributes to strengthening the friendly, traditional, and mutually trusting relationship, and promotes the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
In the future, Da Nang is ready to act as a bridge, creating favorable conditions for the naval forces of both sides to continue expanding cooperation, training activities, and experience sharing to contribute to ensuring freedom of navigation, maritime security, and safety at sea.
Colonel Anciferov Alexey Vitalievich expressed his deep gratitude to the city leaders and departments for creating favorable conditions for the visit to proceed smoothly.
The Colonel shared that the commanders, officers, and sailors were very impressed by the development and beautiful scenery of Da Nang city.

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the bilateral survey at the Tây Giang (Danang) - Ka Lum (Sekong) border gate area on the morning of May 14, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Thái Bình and Chairman of the Sekong Provincial Government Committee Khanty Silavongsath agreed on the policy and coordination plans to prepare the necessary conditions to upgrade the Tây Giang - Ka Lum border gate to a main border gate before 2030.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Both sides conducted a field survey, determining the scope of the border gate area, suitable locations, and coordinates to serve planning purposes, forming the basis for proposing adjustments to the planning and developing the design for the main border gate.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">At a meeting with the experts of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on June 10, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi affirmed that the project to preserve and restore the E-F tower groups at the Mỹ Sơn World Cultural Heritage site is a symbol of the friendly cooperative relationship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and India. The city will continue to create favorable conditions for the project to be implemented effectively and wishes to expand cooperation with Indian partners in heritage preservation, scientific research, human resource training, and sustainable tourism development.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The project is implemented on the basis of cooperation agreements between the governments of the two countries, with a total funding support from the Government of India of about 115 billion VND. After one year of implementation, the project has completed about 20% of the workload.</span></p>

The city is committed to continuing to accompany and closely coordinate with AFD and relevant agencies to promptly address difficulties and obstacles, ensuring that the project is implemented on schedule, achieves quality standards, and maximizes investment efficiency.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">This is an important project for protecting the coastline, responding to climate change, ensuring the safety of residents, tourists, and coastal infrastructure, and contributing to the sustainable development of the area. With a total investment of 42 million euros for the 2019-2026 phase, the project focuses on constructing a submerged breakwater system, groynes, and beach nourishment along more than 3.3 km of Hội An's coastline. To date, the main contracting packages have resumed after being temporarily halted due to weather conditions. The project owner aims to complete the construction work before the storm season in 2026.</p>
