Da Nang accompanies Hy Vong school in fulfilling the mission of serving the community
At the inauguration ceremony of Hy Vong School on the afternoon of August 8, Da Nang Municipal Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that the city will always accompany and create conditions for the school to progress in connection with serving the community.
Hy Vong School – the 'second home' of the children – is built on an area of more than 6,500 square meters, featuring modern classrooms, comfortable dormitories, and many functional rooms. Established in 2021 by FPT and the Hy Vong Foundation, the school nurtures and educates children orphaned by COVID-19, and currently accommodates more than 300 students from 29 provinces and cities.

Da Nang expands cooperation, prioritizes investment in the South Korean tourism market
On the evening of August 4, a gala event was held at the Shilla Monogram Da Nang Hotel to show appreciation for the South Korean companies and partners who have supported Da Nang's tourism. At the event, Chairman of the City People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed that South Korea is one of Da Nang's most important partners, especially in tourism, investment, trade, and cultural exchange.
In the first 7 months of 2025 alone, Da Nang welcomed more than 1 million South Korean visitors out of a total of over 4 million international visitors. This was made possible by 150 weekly flights operated by 12 airlines between Da Nang and major South Korean cities. Da Nang has committed to continuing to expand cooperation with South Korea and considers it a strategic market for priority investment in its development into a leading tourism and service hub in Asia.
During the event, the city honored 12 airlines and 12 tour operators and OTAs for their contributions to bringing South Korean tourists to Da Nang. As part of the Korean Tourism Appreciation Week (August 1–8), activities such as a Famtrip program, a golf tournament, and a souvenir giving program effectively promoted the destination and strengthened cooperation between Da Nang and the South Korean market.

Strengthening cooperation between Da Nang and Australia
On the afternoon of August 4, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh chaired a meeting with the Consul General of Australia in Ho Chi Minh City, Sarah Hooper.
During the meeting, Consul General Sarah Hooper expressed her admiration for Da Nang and congratulated the city on its expansion and its selection to build a Free Trade Zone and an International Financial Center. Ms. Hooper also hoped that the two sides would strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, and sustainable development.
She specifically emphasized joint training programs and student exchanges between reputable educational institutions in Australia and Da Nang. Additionally, she proposed that the city expedite the launch of a direct flight route between Da Nang and Australia.
Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh expressed his pleasure with the good development of the relationship between Vietnam and Australia, especially after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2024 during the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Australia.
Mr. Minh hoped that the Consul General of Australia would continue to show interest and introduce potential Australian investors and partners to explore opportunities for cooperation, investment, and business in Da Nang in areas such as the Free Trade Zone and the International Financial Center. Additionally, he hoped to promote cooperation in education and high-quality human resource training, especially in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
He also suggested strengthening joint training programs, student exchange programs, transfer programs, and joint research between Da Nang's higher education institutions and prestigious schools in Australia.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu receives the delegation of Hamyang District (South Korea)
On the morning of August 4, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Quang Buu chaired a meeting with Jin Byungyoung, the District Head of Hamyang District, Gyeongsangnam Province (South Korea), during his visit and work in Da Nang.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu thanked Jin Byungyoung for accepting the invitation to attend the 7th Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival in Nam Tra My commune. He also provided information about the merger between Da Nang city and the former Quang Nam province and highlighted some notable features of the new Da Nang city.
According to Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu, Hamyang District and the former Nam Tra My District have had a close relationship. The two localities have signed a cooperation agreement on sending and receiving seasonal workers to work in South Korea, achieving many positive results.
He emphasized that after implementing the two-level local government, the Da Nang City People's Committee will inherit the cooperation agreement that the former Nam Tra My District signed with Hamyang District.
The city is also considering assigning Nam Tra My commune to take the lead in continuing to connect and implement cooperation activities with Hamyang District. For the seasonal labor program, the city will consider assigning the city's competent authorities to directly manage and guide Nam Tra My commune to effectively implement this programme.
Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu expressed his hope that with the potential of the new Da Nang city, Hamyang District would continue to strengthen business connections and promote cooperation in economy, trade, and tourism, especially in the development of ginseng, a rare and precious medicinal plant that both localities have.

SHB Da Nang Football Club embarks on the journey to conquer the V. League 1 and the National Cup.
On the morning of August 4th at the Tien Son Sports Center, SHB Da Nang Sports Joint Stock Company organized the opening ceremony for the SHB Da Nang Football Club for the 2025/2026 season, with the goal of making it into the Top 5 of V. League 1 and achieving high-level results in the National Cup. Deputy Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi affirmed that this is an important milestone, demonstrating the strong determination of Da Nang football to transform, while acknowledging the efforts of the leadership, coaches, and players during the challenging previous season.

The youth of Hoi An have introduced 14 innovative projects based on heritage.
On the afternoon of August 4th at the Hoi An Central Park, more than 50 students from grades 10-11 presented 14 innovative project proposals, concluding the Young Leaders Training Program – a key activity of the project "Promoting Innovation for Youth and Community" funded by UN-Habitat and Foundation Botnar.
After more than three months of studying, experiencing artisans, businesses, and cultural experts, the students developed projects related to the preservation and promotion of heritage values, reflecting creative thinking and a desire to contribute to the community. The program equipped them with systemic thinking, project management skills, communication, and teamwork, helping them to "live with" heritage and be aware of their role in sustainable local development.
The closing ceremony honored 3 exemplary projects and awarded certificates of completion for the Young Leaders Training Program in Hoi An and Magical Leaders to all participants.
