City leaders receive the Deputy Commander of the Japan Coast Guard
On the afternoon of January 19, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Hồ Kỳ Minh, presided over a meeting with Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru, Deputy Commander of the Japan Coast Guard, along with his delegation during their visit to Đà Nẵng.
The Vice Chairman affirmed that the visit holds significant importance in strengthening the friendship and mutual trust between the two sides, in line with the framework of the Vietnam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He also emphasized that the city is ready to facilitate and promote cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Japan Coast Guard.
Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru expressed his appreciation for the cooperative relationship between the two countries and expressed the desire to continue enhancing coordination in ensuring maritime security, safety, and search and rescue at sea.
Currently, the city maintains cooperation with six localities in Japan; Japan leads in investment capital with over 1.28 billion USD across 280 projects and is a key tourism market.

Đà Nẵng expands cooperation in finance, science, and innovation in Switzerland
On January 19, Vice Chairman of the Đà Nẵng City People's Committee, Hồ Quang Bửu, held a working session with Swiss organizations and partners to promote
cooperation in the fields of finance and banking, innovation, high-tech healthcare, and human resource training, in line with the orientation of establishing the Vietnam International Financial Center in Đà Nẵng.
In the field of high-tech healthcare, partners from the Swiss Asia Chamber and Singularity Institute proposed cooperation in establishing a research laboratory and setting up a mental health clinic in Đà Nẵng. In addition, they explored the possibility of establishing a law firm operating within the International Financial Center, as well as collaborating to train high-quality legal professionals.
Welcoming these proposals, the Vice Chairman expressed the hope that the Vietnam International Financial Center in Đà Nẵng would become a member of SwissCham ASIA; at the same time, he assigned relevant agencies to soon concretize the cooperation content in February 2026 and proposed collaboration to promote Vietnamese ginseng in the European market.
Working with the Swiss Banking Association in Zurich, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee exchanged experiences on developing a modern financial center, green finance, and digital finance, while requesting the Association's support in connecting Swiss financial institutions and banks for research and investment promotion in Đà Nẵng.
Appreciating Vietnam's development orientation, the Swiss Banking Association emphasized the crucial importance of completing the legal framework, establishing a flexible development roadmap, and building trust in the process of forming an international financial center.

Đà Nẵng strengthens cooperation in technology and digital finance in Switzerland
On January 20, in Switzerland, the Đà Nẵng City delegation, led by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hồ Quang Bửu, held meetings with various organizations, enterprises, and international partners in the fields of innovation, high technology, cybersecurity, fintech, blockchain, and digital assets.
In Davos, the delegation met with Yubico, the Lithuanian Crypto Economy Organization, and Lithuania's Web3 to discuss potential collaborations and opportunities in cybersecurity, secure semiconductors, fintech, blockchain, and the development of the digital asset ecosystem, in line with the plan to establish an International Financial Center in Đà Nẵng.
On the same day, the working delegation exchanged international experiences with Coinbase (USA) regarding the development and supervision of the digital asset market, investor protection, anti-money laundering, risk management, and blockchain infrastructure development. On this basis, the delegation proposed that Coinbase provide policy advisory support and research on participating in controlled pilot models (sandbox), in line with the development orientation of the International Financial Center.
Identifying science and technology, innovation, and digital finance as important growth drivers, the Vice Chairman Hồ Quang Bửu expressed the desire to strengthen international cooperation and attract high-quality investment.
Participating in the “Call for Cooperation and Investment” event, the working delegation presented a report on linking green capital with digital finance, thereby expanding international cooperation opportunities and attracting high-quality investment to serve the sustainable development of the city.

Đà Nẵng organizes an Investment Promotion Conference in Switzerland
On the afternoon of January 20, Đà Nẵng city held an Investment Promotion Conference under the theme “Đà Nẵng: A New Hub for Green Capital and Digital Finance” in Davos, Switzerland.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Anh Tuấn highly appreciated Đà Nẵng's initiative, emphasizing that combining green finance with digital finance aligns with the global capital flow trends and contributes to the formation of a modern and sustainable financial ecosystem. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to accompanying Đà Nẵng in building an International Financial Center, connecting international resources, and developing high-quality human resources.
Vice Chairman of the Đà Nẵng People's Committee Hồ Quang Bửu affirmed that Đà Nẵng aims to serve as a strategic partner, working alongside investors for long-term development. The city targets are becoming a center for innovation and high technology in the Central region, as well as a connecting point for green capital and digital finance with the Asia-Pacific region.

International students are excited to experience the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year
Amid the bustling atmosphere of the days leading up to Tet, more than 350 international students from 26 countries studying at the University of Đà Nẵng’s College of Education – participated in the "Vietnamese Tết for International Students" program on the afternoon of January 22. This is an annual activity organized by the University to introduce and promote the traditional cultural values of Vietnam to the international student community.
During the program, international students experienced various traditional Tết activities such as calligraphy, making bánh chưng and bánh tét, while enjoying traditional sweets and cakes, thereby feeling the warm, family-oriented spirit of Vietnamese Tết. The activity helps students gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese customs and cultural life, preserves beautiful memories during their study in Đà Nẵng, and contributes to building a multicultural, open, and integrated educational environment.
