Enjoy the summer in Da Nang with a series of attractive tourism events
On the morning of May 27, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang held a press conference to announce the Enjoy Da Nang Festival 2025, which will take place from June 19 to 23, 2025.This is an annual city-scale event featuring many attractive cultural, sports, entertainment, and culinary activities aimed at serving the locals and attracting tourists during the summer.
Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that this year's festival has been devised in a systematic and professional manner with the theme 'Colors of Summer', aiming to provide a vibrant and novel experience for participants. The city is committed to facilitating the festival to ensure it takes place safely and successfully.
In 2025, Da Nang tourism showed numerous positive signs. In the first four months of the year, the city welcomed over 3.5 million visitors, with tourism revenue reaching over 11.4 trillion VND. Specifically, during the holiday period of April 30th - May 1st, Da Nang welcomed about 610,000 visitors, with revenue estimated at 2.426 trillion VND.
This year's festival features more than 12 prominent activities, including: the opening program at East Sea Park with over 20,000 spectators; a Zumba and Dance Sport performance; a culinary zone "Danang Summer Taste" with over 60 booths; an art exhibit "The Story of Da Nang Fishing Village"; artistic kite flying combined with LED lighting; community sports activities and nightly street art performances at the beaches and riverside parks.
Along with the Da Nang Enjoyment Festival, the summer of 2025 in the city will also be vibrant with a series of international-scale events such as: the International Fireworks Festival, the DANAFF III Asian Film Festival, the Vietnam-Japan Festival, the Vietnam-Korea Festival, the Vietnam-England Football Festival 'Legendary Red Color', along with many cultural and street art programs taking place throughout the city.

Opening DIFF 2025: Spectacular fireworks display and the largest outdoor virtual reality space in Vietnam
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival – DIFF 2025 officially opens on the evening of May 31, organized by the city People's Committee in collaboration with Sun Group, marking the impressive return of the most anticipated cultural and tourism event every summer. With the theme 'Cultural Essence', this year's festival will last from May 31 to July 12, becoming the longest and largest fireworks season in the 15-year history of the event.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Le Trung Chinh emphasized that DIFF 2025 is a highlight commemorating the 50th anniversary of Da Nang’s liberation and the reunification of the country, serving as an opportunity for the city to assert its development aspirations, aiming to become the 'leading event and festival City in Asia'.
The opening night attracted more than 10,000 spectators, featuring an impressive 'showdown' between the host team Da Nang and the reigning champion Joho Pyro (Finland), blending fireworks, music, light technology, and AR virtual reality - for the first time applied on a large scale at a cultural festival in Vietnam.
DIFF 2025 takes place every Saturday night with different themes and the participation of competing teams from Vietnam, Poland, Canada, China, Portugal, the UK, South Korea, and Italy. The final night will be held on July 12 with the theme 'Welcoming a New Era'.

Launch of the Da Nang Innovation Space - Greater Bay Area
On the morning of May 29, the Da Nang Innovation Startup Support Center, in cooperation with Sunwah Group and Enosta Group, launched the Greater Bay Area Innovation Center at Enosta Space in Son Tra District.

From May 30 to June 2, 2025, at Quan The Am Pagoda (Ngu Hanh Son District), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Da Nang City organized a grand ceremony to carry, enshrine, and worship the Relics of the Buddha – a national treasure of India. Buddhists and the public started to worship from 7 PM on May 30.
The event held a significant religious, cultural, and diplomatic meaning, which contributed to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and India, demonstrating the Party and State's policy of respecting freedom of belief, while also promoting Da Nang's image as a safe and friendly destination.

The two hubs will complement each other by leveraging their respective regional strengths.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Da Nang positions its financial hub based on its geo-strategic location and synchronized transport infrastructure featuring two airports, three seaports, expressways, railways, and connections across the Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.</p>

VIFC-DN should be designed as an AI-native entity, integrating AI directly into its operational backbone.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Beyond tech infrastructure investments, establishing open data systems, standardizing data governance, and training experts skilled in both finance and AI system development/supervision remain vital.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Professor Taudes stressed that data is the "raw material" of AI. A modern financial center must ensure data sharing, set open banking standards, and create transparent data governance mechanisms that drive innovation while controlling risk.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Regarding human capital, Dr. Wojtek Wojaczek, Director of the IPIP Program (University of Cambridge), stated that the most critical capital for a financial center is people, not money.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">He recommended that Da Nang formulate a long-term talent strategy combining local training with international talent acquisition, alongside building an ecosystem linking universities, enterprises, research institutes, and investors to feed high-quality human resources to VIFC-DN over the next 10–20 years. Talent attraction must go together with creating attractive living and working environments to retain top professionals, securing a sustainable competitive advantage.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">From a market development perspective, Dr. Tran Quoc Hung, former Deputy Director of the Monetary Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), assessed that VIFC-DN possesses strong conditions to become a pioneer in digital assets and blockchain.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Where local government previously operated based on reports, statistics, and managerial experience, the new model uses data as the baseline for all administrative actions. Every decision is supported by real-time data, analyzed through AI, and visualized to forecast, evaluate, and choose optimal options.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">This philosophy underpins the Da Nang Semiconductor Microchip and Artificial Intelligence Development Scheme for 2026–2030. A key highlight of the scheme is building the infrastructure of a data economy: from data centers, high-performance computing centers, 5G infrastructure, IoT, and open data to an innovation ecosystem and high-quality human resources.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">According to Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu, Da Nang is shifting from a "defensive" mindset (applying existing tech) to an "offensive" stance (creating new value based on data, AI, and digital technologies). The city targets having the digital economy contribute 35–40% of GRDP by 2030, establishing a data exchange, building a data economy, and turning AI into a core competency for civil servants and citizens alike.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">A smart city is thus measured not merely by the quantity of AI applications, but primarily by its capacity for data-driven governance.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">On June 22, 2026, the City People's Committee approved the Pilot Scheme for the Digital Twin. The Digital Twin creates a "living digital replica" of the city that continuously updates multi-sectoral data. On this platform, government can track current events and simulate development scenarios to assess impact before real-world execution. This marks a shift from reactive issue management to proactive data governance.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The Digital Twin serves as the operational environment to run simulations and support decision-making. When connected, the city manages more effectively, forecasts better, responds faster, and serves citizens more precisely.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The Semiconductor Microchip and AI Development Scheme centers on data standardization, open data growth, data center and high-performance computing investments, IoT and 5G infrastructure, and commissioning real-world urban management challenges for businesses, universities, and research institutes to solve together.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu noted that AI must permeate all socio-economic activities, serving as a tool to inject knowledge into both public and private sectors. The new growth model - "Capital (Blockchain) + Labor (Robots) + Knowledge (AI)" - provides the momentum to target double-digit GRDP growth.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Meanwhile, Tam Ky Ward introduced AI into administrative reform via AI Assistants, Zalo Mini Apps, digital maps, and Community Digital Technology Teams. In less than a year, the ward processed over 13,670 applications, achieving an online submission rate of 99.54% with 100% of files resolved on or ahead of time, and assisted over 26,000 citizens with online administrative procedures. These models demonstrate that AI and data are moving beyond strategic concepts into practical tools serving citizens directly at the grassroots level.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">To realize these goals, Da Nang continues to address bottlenecks in mechanisms, infrastructure, and human resources; leverage specific mechanisms under Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 and Resolution No. 193/2025/QH15; invest in international-standard data centers, Software Park No. 2, and undersea fiber-optic cables; and expand regulatory sandboxes to attract major tech conglomerates.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Both sides aim to promote long-term cooperation, linking production and business activities with technological innovation, environmental protection, and the fulfillment of social responsibilities.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">At the Vietnam - Denmark Business Forum held in Copenhagen, Carlsberg Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Jacob Aarup-Andersen handed over a Letter of Intent to City People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung in the presence of General Secretary and State President To Lam and the King of Denmark.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">The letter demonstrates Carlsberg's orientation toward long-term cooperation with the Da Nang City People's Committee, functional agencies, and related partners, while affirming the desire to continue accompanying the city in economic development and enhancing the efficiency of production and business operations associated with environmental protection and social responsibility.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">With over three decades of operation in Vietnam, Carlsberg has contributed to creating about 3,000 direct and indirect jobs nationwide. In the 2026–2031 period, Carlsberg aims to improve operational efficiency, strengthen adaptability to challenges, and promote operational modernization and commercial infrastructure development in Da Nang through smart management solutions, green logistics, transport optimization, and the modernization of operational systems.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">According to Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh, the city's development orientation follows a circular economy implemented in three stages: initiation from 2022 to 2025; development from 2025 to 2030; and acceleration with city-wide action from 2030 to 2045. Da Nang is expected to essentially meet the criteria of a circular city by the end of 2045. </span></p>

<p style="line-height:30px">Kazik Park was built in 2007, located at 138 Tran Phu Street, Hoi An Ancient Town. The work is a deep expression of gratitude from the local government and people toward the late Polish architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski (1944–1997), affectionately known as Kazik.</p>
<p style="line-height:30px">On December 4, 1999, the ancient town of Hoi An was officially honored as a World Cultural Heritage of humanity. That was the immense joy of the people of Hoi An and Vietnam, with Kazik's enormous contribution.</p>
<p style="line-height:30px">In 2007, the then-town of Hoi An invested in building the park right in the center of the ancient town to commemorate the contributions of the late architect Kazik.</p>

However, under this year's stable weather conditions, tourism activities in Da Nang are proceeding favorably.</p>

For South Korean tourists, this is also one of the locations that can be easily included in the city sightseeing itinerary.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Kim Ji-eun, 22, a student living in Mapo-gu district, Seoul (South Korea), said that she chose Da Nang for her October vacation thanks to the combination of coastal landscapes, cuisine, and attractions in the city center.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">"I like the atmosphere in Da Nang because I can both rest by the beach and easily go sightseeing and shopping. Coming to Han Market, I can find many types of specialties and souvenirs. The favorable weather also makes the trip more comfortable," Ji-eun shared.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Ms. Choi Min-seo, 24, an office worker living in Suwon, Gyeonggi province (South Korea), shared that she has chosen Da Nang for her vacation many times.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">"What I like about Da Nang is that there are many experiences to choose from. I can spend time at the beach, enjoy local dishes, or go shopping at markets in the center. Every time I return, I want to explore more new places," Min-seo shared.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;;line-height:30px">Besides young travelers, South Korean families also come to Da Nang to combine relaxation, sightseeing, and shopping. Developing Halal tourism not only creates opportunities to attract international visitors but also promotes the connection of commerce, cuisine, accommodation, shopping, and related services.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">The city hopes to continue receiving support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign diplomatic missions, including the Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam, as well as experts and international partners in sharing experiences, providing market information, connecting partners, and understanding the needs of Muslim tourists.</span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">Regarding HAIS's proposal to expand its scale, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that relevant departments and agencies coordinate with the People's Committee of Hội An Tay Ward to review regulations, assess compatibility with planning, and evaluate the local educational development needs. Based on this, the findings should be consolidated and submitted to the City People's Committee for consideration and decision-making within its authority; during the research process, it is necessary to clarify conditions related to land, planning, investment, and associated procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;line-height:30px"><span style="text-justify:inter-ideograph">Founded in 2018, HAIS operates in the field of international inter-level education, became a member of Cambridge International Education in 2019, and joined the Council of International Schools (CIS) in 2022.
