Da Nang and BIDV Bank signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop financial technology solutions for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone
On the morning of May 23, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and BIDV Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in developing financial technology solutions for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
The memorandum lays the foundation for a strategic partnership between the two parties, focusing on three main pillars: developing technological solutions for managing the operation of the FTZ area; proposing incentives to attract investment; and developing green and sustainable finance according to ESG standards.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Ho Ky Minh, affirmed that BIDV is a partner with strong financial, technological, and (experiential potential)-I don’t know what you mean here, which will work together with the city to promote the development of the FTZ area into an economic bright spot of the Central region and the entire country.
The Chairman of the Board of BIDV Phan Duc Tu committed to accompany the city in building the FTZ into a new symbol of economic, technological, and sustainable development, contributing to enhancing the nation’s position and competitiveness.
Developing high-quality human resources is no longer an option, but an urgent task
At the scientific seminar with the theme "Tasks and solutions for developing high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of the city's development in the new era" organized by the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, the City People's Committee, and the Da Nang City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front on the afternoon of May 20, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, Le Trung Chinh, affirmed that developing high-quality human resources is no longer an option but a pressing task to promote rapid and sustainable development. He emphasized the key role of a team of highly qualified personnel, with innovative thinking, creativity, and the ability to adapt to the changes of the era.
The seminar attracted nearly 350 experts and scientists, including more than 250 professors and associate professors who are either originally from or currently working in Da Nang, contributing many practical perspectives and strategies, particularly in the field of science and technology. At the same time, the experts also pointed out the issues that need to be resolved related to institutions, infrastructure, and data systems, in order to create a solid foundation for the development of high-quality human resources.
Connecting Da Nang tourism to the Middle Eastern market
On the afternoon of May 20, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Da Nang, in collaboration with Emirates Airlines, held an online seminar introducing Da Nang tourism to the Middle Eastern market, aiming to effectively utilize Emirates' new route to Da Nang starting from June 2, 2025.
The seminar focused on promoting the strengths of resort tourism, MICE, Halal-certified products, high-end accommodation systems, and personalized services for Middle Eastern travelers. International partners are interested in visa policies, entry regulations, and support mechanisms for customers. This is an opportunity to connect, expand cooperation, and seize the potential from the CEPA agreement between Vietnam and the UAE.
Da Nang is currently the third city in Vietnam served by Emirates, with a frequency of 4 flights per week. The city has proactively implemented various preparation activities, from training and workshops to developing specialized publications, ready to welcome the high-end customer market from the Middle East.
More than 20 Japanese companies participate in the job fair, recruiting students
On May 22, Dong A University held Japan Job Fair 2025 with the participation of over 20 companies, offering more than 500 employment and internship opportunities for students in various fields. The Job Fair marked new strategic partnerships in education, healthcare, and human resource development with Japanese partners, bringing the total number of affiliated partners to over 150 organizations.
One of the important highlights of the Job Fair was the signing ceremony for the establishment of a Japan-standard clinic project, which is located on the first floor of the new Mikazuki Hotel Da Nang building, valued at nearly 100 billion VND. On this occasion, the Japanese company also awarded more than 340 million VND in scholarships to students interning and working in Japan in 2025 and 2026.
