More cruise tourists come to Da Nang
2012 was a successful year for attracting international cruise visitors to Da Nang in spite of the ongoing global economic crisis. A total of 55 cruise ships have berthed at Tien Sa Port, an increase of 13 over last year. The figure was reported by the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on 28 November.

It is estimated that total foreign cruise visitors to Da Nang reached 52,570 this year, a year-on-year increase of 91.16%.  It only ranks second after international arrivals to Da Nang by air.

The Da Nang Port’s Border Guard reported that Chinese passengers to the city made up the highest number at 31.3% thanks to the return of the five-star cruise ship SuperStar Aquarius, operated by Star Cruises (Malaysia), in the first and fourth quarters of 2012.  Visitors from the USA ranked first last year with 15.3%.
