Promote cooperation with the UNEEDC Global Fund for Innovative Startups

On the afternoon of August 4, at the meeting with Mrs. Trương Thị Ny – Founding Chairwoman of the UNEEDC Global Fund, Nguyễn Khắc Toàn - Central Committee member and Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that Danang always accompanies and facilitates enterprises when implementing cooperation programs in accordance with the law, contributing to creating new development momentum and building Danang into a green, modern, highly competitive smart city.

Mrs. Trương Thị Ny stated that UNEEDC Global Fund wishes to become a bridge to support Vietnamese businesses in accessing financial resources, technology, innovation, and international cooperation, while also partnering with Danang in the fields of innovation, digital transformation, green economy, logistics, education, technology, culture, high-quality tourism, and business development, contributing to attracting investment and promoting the city’s sustainable development.

Expand cooperation with U.S. partners

At noon on August 3, in the meeting with Ms. Jennifer Wicks, the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng expressed his hope that she would continue to serve as a bridge to attract U.S. technology corporations and financial institutions to survey and invest in Danang; at the same time, to promote cooperation in human resource training, English teaching, healthcare, and the environment. On that basis, it would contribute to promoting the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and expanding cooperation between Danang and U.S. partners. 

Ambassador Jennifer Wicks affirmed that she would coordinate with U.S. agencies and enterprises to implement cooperation programs with Danang in areas of mutual interest.

Yongin City (South Korea) to enhance sharing of local governance experiences

At the reception of the delegation of Yongin City (South Korea) led by Mayor Lee Sang-Il on the morning of August 6, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Danang City Nguyễn Đình Vĩnh, proposed that Yongin share its experiences in community self-management models, supervision and social criticism, and the application of digital technology in local governance, contributing to improving the efficiency of serving the people.

Mayor Lee Sang-Il affirmed that he would continue to promote cooperative relations with Danang, enhance people-to-people exchanges, facilitate student exchanges, and expand cooperation in high-tech sectors, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, culture, and tourism.

Based on the Agreement on Establishing a Friendly Cooperation Relationship signed at the beginning of 2026, both sides will continue to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, high-tech investment, artificial intelligence, semiconductor microchips, human resource training, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Strengthen cooperation with the UAE in investment, finance, infrastructure, and tourism

At the meeting with His Excellency Bader Almatrooshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Vietnam on the morning of August 7, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hồ Kỳ Minh, proposed that the Ambassador continue to support connecting UAE investment funds and enterprises to explore investment in Danang's key projects, such as the urban expressway, urban railway, Chu Lai Airport infrastructure, the Free Trade Zone (FTZ), and the Vietnam International Financial Center in Danang.

Ambassador Bader Almatrooshi highly appreciated the results of the cooperation between both sides and suggested continuing to review and effectively implement the agreed contents. The Ambassador stated that many UAE enterprises, investment funds, and airlines are interested in exploring cooperation opportunities and establishing flight routes to Danang, while affirming that he will continue to support connections to promote investment, trade, finance, infrastructure, aviation, and tourism cooperation between the UAE and Danang.

Expand cooperation with Tanzania in digital transformation

At a working session with the delegation from the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania on the afternoon of August 5, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi stated that Tanzania's orientation for digital transformation, digital infrastructure, and e-government has many similarities with Danang, creating a foundation for both sides to enhance cooperation and share experiences in science and technology, innovation, smart cities, and digital ecosystem development.

Minister of Communication and Information Technology of Tanzania, Hon. Angellah Jasmine Mbelwa Kairuki, highly valued Danang's development strategy in high technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, logistics, international financial centers, and free trade zones. She also proposed promoting cooperation between the two sides through local partnerships, student exchanges, high-tech human resource training, connecting universities, and inviting Danang enterprises to invest in Tanzania, considering it a gateway to access the African market.

Inaugurate the Vietnam - South Korea Festival in Danang City 2026

At the opening ceremony of the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Danang City 2026 on the evening of August 7, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi affirmed that Danang is continuing to build a favorable investment environment, develop an innovation ecosystem, expand international cooperation, and work with Korean partners to implement substantial, effective, and sustainable cooperation programs.

This year's festival features numerous cultural, artistic, culinary, and tourism exchange activities; a digital art exhibition Media Art Lab, Korean Film Days, football exchanges, Taekwondo and traditional martial arts performances, K-pop contests, along with Vietnam - Korea artistic programs.

Within the framework of the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang City 2026, numerous activities are organized to strengthen cooperation with Korean localities. The spotlight was the conference “Meeting Korea in Danang 2026” with the theme “Artificial Intelligence - A New Driver for Growth and Development.” Sơn Trà Ward and Gurye District also inaugurated the Friendship Cooperation Symbol project, continuing to expand exchanges across various fields. Strengthen cooperation with South Korean localities

Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi received local Korean working delegations.

At the reception of the Osan City (South Korea) working delegation led by Mayor Jo Yong Ho, both sides agreed to re-sign the Friendship Cooperation Agreement to promote cooperation in AI, digital governance, high technology, semiconductors, economy, education, and culture; while also enhancing business connections, investment promotion, and cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges.

Upon receiving the Yongin City (South Korea) working delegation led by Mr. Lee Sang-Il, Mayor of Yongin City, both sides agreed to promote cooperation in high technology, semiconductors, AI, business connections, and cultural exchanges, with the community digital library in Quảng Phú Ward considered a symbol of the connection between the two localities. Danang highly appreciates the attention of Yongin's leadership, as within eight months, Mayor Lee Sang-Il has visited and worked in the city twice.

At the meeting with Mr. Jin Byungyoung, Head of Hamyang County, Gyeongsangnam Province (South Korea), along with the Hamyang County delegation, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hồ Quang Bửu proposed strengthening cooperation in the development of the medicinal plant industry, focusing on research on varieties, biotechnology, processing products from Ngọc Linh ginseng, and developing herbal medicine brands. 

On this occasion, the Danang City People's Committee and the Hamyang County Government signed an Agreement to establish a friendly cooperative relationship. 

Hamyang County presented Danang with 20 coconut trees to contribute to increasing green space, protecting the coastline, and fostering the friendship between the two localities.

Put into operation the first herbal biopesticide manufacturing plant in Danang

The factory is located in the Phú Mỹ Industrial Cluster (Tây Hồ Commune), with Phase 1 having an investment capital of 1 million USD and covering an area of 5,000 m². It is equipped with a modern production line, with an expected capacity of 500,000–1 million products per year when fully operational.

In addition to biological plant protection products, OAU aims to develop formulations for environmental treatment, contaminated soil, post-harvest agricultural product preservation, aquaculture, and solutions for the organic shrimp-rice model, serving the domestic market and targeting exports.

The delegation from Vientiane Capital (Laos) exchanges experiences on the one-stop service model

On the morning of August 7, a delegation from Xaysettha and Xaythany districts (Vientiane, Laos) visited Danang to observe and work in order to exchange and learn about experiences of one-stop mechanism, interconnected one-stop mechanism in the settlement of administrative procedures.

The delegation surveyed the operational model of the city's Public Administration Service Center and the People's Committee of Hải Châu Ward, exploring the processes for resolving administrative procedures, the application of information technology, digital transformation, digitization of records, online public services, and the use of shared data.
