Lighting candles in gratitude to the heroic martyrs

On the evening of July 26, the Candle Lighting Ceremony of Gratitude 2026 was simultaneously held at 155 martyrs' cemeteries, graves, and memorial sites across the city. 

City leaders lit candles in tribute to the heroic martyrs at the City Martyrs' Cemetery (Hòa Tiến Commune). 

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates performed the bell-ringing ritual, observed a moment of silence to honor President Hồ Chí Minh and the heroic martyrs, and offered flowers and incense at the Memorial, lighting candles in gratitude at the graves. 

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 60 gifts to veterans, former youth volunteers, and relatives of martyrs to express appreciation for the great contributions of previous generations.

Danang and Sakai (Japan) expand cooperation for sustainable development

At the meeting with the working delegation of the Sakai City Council (Japan), Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City Council Nguyễn Đức Dũng facilitated connections through the Sakai City Council to provide the Danang City Council delegation with the opportunity to visit and work with the Sakai City Council and specialized agencies; exchange experiences in developing policies on green urban development, digital transformation, clean energy, social welfare, and mechanisms for supervising the implementation of local government resolutions.

Sakai City Council delegate Kibata Tadashi highly appreciated the increasingly expanded cooperative relationship between the two localities across various fields. At the same time, he expressed the desire for both sides to continue enhancing delegation exchanges, sharing experiences in the activities of representative bodies, promoting cooperation in sustainable urban development, green transformation, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people interactions.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng discusses cooperation with Sembcorp Industries Group

At the working session with Sembcorp Industries Group (Singapore) on the afternoon of July 23, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng discussed investment cooperation opportunities in the fields of digital infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, and the development of the Danang Free Trade Zone.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that Danang always accompanies and facilitates high-tech, digital infrastructure, and data center projects to be implemented quickly. At the same time, he requested that Sembcorp Industries Group promptly establish a representative office in Danang to maintain a regular channel of communication and coordination with the local authorities.

Mr. Eugene Cheng Chee Mun, Chief Financial Officer of Sembcorp Industries, Chairman and CEO of the Integrated Urban Solutions Division, and a board member of VSIP Group, stated that Sembcorp not only aims to invest in individual projects but also seeks to develop an investment ecosystem in Danang. Accordingly, the group will leverage its strengths to attract high-quality FDI projects in the high-tech industrial and data center sectors by developing green industrial zones, with a view to building strategic, long-term partnerships with the city.

Groundbreaking of the Sun Galaxy Complex project worth nearly VND 10,750 billion

On the morning of July 25th, Sun Group held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sun Galaxy Complex project – the first international-scale festival, event, cultural, and entertainment complex in Danang, with a total investment of nearly VND 10,750 billion.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng emphasized that the investment in Sun Galaxy Complex holds special significance, not only serving the Danang International Fireworks Festival but also creating a modern cultural and entertainment space; supplementing new tourism products, promoting the night-time economy, extending tourists' length of stay, and increasing their spending. In the longer term, the project will contribute to forming a new development hub along the Hàn River, connecting cultural, commercial, service, and tourism spaces, positioning Danang as a destination for international-level events and festivals.

The Sun Galaxy Complex project – an international-scale festival, event, cultural, and entertainment complex – is being developed on an area of more than 210,000 m², located in the central area of the Danang Downtown mega urban area. The core of the project is an outdoor stage and grandstand with nearly 20,000 seats, directly facing the Hàn River and the fireworks display area.

Within the overall project, a 47-story commercial and service building (approximately 183m) will integrate a hotel system, serviced apartments, a shopping center, restaurants, a ballroom, and high-end amenities. Among these, the accommodation ecosystem is expected to be managed by Accor, offering the experience of enjoying fireworks directly from the place of stay.

Strengthening cooperation with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association

At the meeting with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association delegation, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng highly appreciated the Association's role as a bridge in connecting Singapore's leading enterprises, partners, and experts with Danang. He also requested that the Association and its member enterprises focus on promoting investment in the semiconductor microchip industry and supporting industries at the High-Tech Park, industrial zones, and Danang Free Trade Zone. In addition, developing human resources and expanding international cooperation to contribute to the formation of a modern semiconductor ecosystem were emphasized.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association, Ang Wee Seng, highly valued Da Nang's vision and orientation for the development of the semiconductor industry. Understanding Da Nang's semiconductor ecosystem, particularly the quality of human resources — a factor considered fundamental for the industry's development — was also highlighted. The association wishes to strengthen connections with departments, agencies, Danang University, and related units to promptly concretize the contents of cooperation, contributing to the development of the city's semiconductor ecosystem.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of City People's Committee Hồ Quang Bửu and the working delegation of the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) held a meeting to discuss cooperation potential in attracting investment, human resource training, research, technology transfer, and the development of the semiconductor industry's supply chain.

Within the framework of the program, the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation with various agencies, units, and enterprises of Danang.

Danang expands cooperation opportunities with the Catalonia Region (Spain) across multiple sectors

At the meeting with Mr. Salvador Illa i Roca, President of the Government of Catalonia (Spain), and his delegation on the afternoon of July 26, Vice Chairwoman of the Danang City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi expressed the desire for the Government of Catalonia to continue accompanying and promoting cooperation with Danang in many key areas.

In particular, the two sides will strengthen the sharing of experiences in urban planning, public transport development, urban railways, sustainable tourism management, heritage conservation and enhancement; exchange experiences in building and operating the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone. At the same time, they will promote connections between business communities, industry associations, and investment promotion agencies; create favorable conditions for Catalonia enterprises to explore investment opportunities in Danang, especially in the fields of high technology, logistics, innovation, digital transformation, and tourism.

Along with that, aiming to expand cooperation in education and training, scientific research, student and faculty exchanges; strengthen cultural, tourism, and sports exchanges, particularly studying the implementation of youth football training cooperation programs and organizing sports exchange activities. 

The Vice Chairwoman of City People's Committee requested that the Government of the Catalonia Region focus on supporting and connecting Danang in regards to establishing a friendly cooperation relationship with the city of Barcelona or a suitable locality in the Catalonia Region, thereby creating a long-term framework for cooperative activities between the two sides. 

On this occasion, the city leaders sincerely invited the President of the Government of the Catalonia Region and the delegation to attend the Conference of World Heritage Cities with the theme 'Danang - Where Heritage Meets the Future,' scheduled to be held in December 2026 in Danang.

Enjoy Danang 2026 Festival: Many new experiences that 'touch' original values

The Enjoy Danang 2026 Festival, themed "Danang - Touching the Original," opened on the evening of July 23 at East Sea Park, kicking off a series of cultural, sports, tourism, and entertainment activities taking place from July 22 to 26.

This year's festival has been refreshed with many prominent activities such as the live-action art program, the Beachside Light Gala, cultural, culinary, and beach sports spaces, along with numerous experiential activities.

Each program will serve as a "touchpoint" for residents and visitors to help them deeply appreciate the natural beauty, culture, and people of Danang, thereby promoting the image of a dynamic, creative, friendly city rich in identity.

A new feature of this year's festival is the series of themed experiential spaces, creating a continuous exploration journey from dawn to late night at East Sea Park, Mỹ Khê Beach, Mân Thái Beach, Sơn Trà Peninsula, and several other destinations within the city. The festival will conclude on the evening of July 26 with the program "Reliving Danang Moments."

Completing 100% of administrative procedures to serve investors in Danang Free Trade Zone

Danang has completed the administrative procedures system under the special mechanism for the Free Trade Zone (FTZ), including the addition of 34 administrative procedures related to import and export, and has assigned the Danang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Management Board (DSEZA) to issue Certificates of Origin (C/O), laying a foundation ready to put the FTZ into operation, and enhancing the effectiveness of investment attraction and international trade development. 

This group of procedures is particularly important, helping to complete the administrative procedure chain that serves investment, production, trade, and export activities in the Danang FTZ. 

To date, DSEZA has completed the entire administrative procedure system within its authority under the special mechanisms and policies for the Danang FTZ and is ready to implement it when the functional zones of the FTZ officially operate.

Approval of investment policy for the VSIP Danang Industrial Park project nearly 250 hectares in scale

The Chairman of the City People's Committee approved the investment policy and simultaneously approved the investor to implement the project on Investment in Construction and Business of Infrastructure of VSIP Danang Industrial Park in Điện Bàn Bắc Ward. The project covers an area of 249.8 hectares with a total investment of VND 3,730 billion.

According to the Decision, the investor implementing the project is Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited (VSIP). The project's objective is to invest in the construction and business of industrial park infrastructure, including management and operation activities.

The project is expected to begin marketing and investment promotion activities from the third quarter of 2028.
