As part of the Vietnam-Korea Festival in Da Nang, on the afternoon of August 16, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, hosted a reception for Kwon An-na, Vice Chairwoman of the Uijeongbu City Council, Gyeonggi Province (South Korea).
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong provided an overview of the city’s socio-economic development.
In the first six months of 2024, the number of international visitors to Da Nang is estimated to have reached over 2 million, an increase of nearly 40.3% compared to the same period in 2023. Among them, nearly 1 million were South Korean visitors.
Vice Chairman Tran Chi mentioned that the National Assembly recently passed Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 on June 26, 2024, regarding the organization of urban governance and piloting several special mechanisms and policies for Da Nang’s development.
So far, Da Nang has established friendly relations and cooperation with four localities in South Korea: Changwon, Daegu, Hwaseong, and Jeju, and has effectively implemented many cooperative programs across various fields.
Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong expressed his hope for more cooperation opportunities between Da Nang and Uijeongbu in the future.
Vice Chairwoman Kwon An-na of the Uijeongbu City Council expressed her gratitude for the warm reception from the city’s leaders and departments. She also gave a brief introduction about Uijeongbu City.
Vice Chairwoman Kwon An-na expressed her hope that Uijeongbu and Da Nang would enhance information exchange and promote cooperative programs in areas of mutual interest, particularly student exchanges in the field of education.
