Continuing the activities within the framework of the working visit to Australia led by Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son, Da Nang City organized the Da Nang Investment and Tourism Promotion Seminar in Sydney on the afternoon of September 13.
In his opening speech, Permanent Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son introduced the city's investment and business environment and future development orientations. He noted that the city has recently been approved by the Vietnamese National Assembly for a resolution on several specific mechanisms and policies, providing favorable conditions for investors and businesses to explore, cooperate, and grow together.
To realize the objectives of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Australia, Da Nang focuses on attracting foreign direct investment, particularly from the Australian market. Building on the existing good cooperative relationship, Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son expressed a desire to invite more businesses from Sydney specifically, and Australia in general, to explore investment opportunities in trade and tourism in Da Nang.
Attending and delivering a welcome speech at the seminar, Mr. Robert Kok, Deputy Mayor of Sydney, stated that Sydney is Australia's leading economic center with developed industrial and service sectors, serving as a gateway to business and tourism activities across Australia.
With a business community of 23,500 enterprises and a city development strategy for 2025-2035 focused on innovation-driven growth, the Sydney city government welcomes opportunities for cooperation with Da Nang enterprises to achieve mutual goals in investment and tourism growth.
"We would like to introduce to Australian partners the eco-urban area model that harmoniously combines research-development, training, and high-tech production with superior incentives on land rent, corporate income tax, import-export tax. This is one of three multifunctional national high-tech parks in Vietnam," said Mr. Nguyen Cong Tien, Standing Deputy Head of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Management Board at the seminar.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of Da Nang City's Department of Tourism, introduced Da Nang's tourism potential, highlighting products favored by Australian tourists such as beach resorts, local cultural experiences, golf tourism, festival event tourism, entertainment, cuisine, and the "Central Heritage Journey" program connecting Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam. Within the program's framework, the tourism sectors of these three localities signed a cooperation agreement with Western Sydney Tourism Association focusing on providing tourism information, coordinating promotional activities, connecting business cooperation for mutual development between enterprises from both sides and enhancing visitor exchange between Central Vietnam destinations and Australian cities.
