Promoting cooperation with the city of Chemnitz (Germany)

On the morning of September 30 (local time) in Frankfurt, Germany, the Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Da Nang City People's Committee and the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany, organized an Investment Promotion Conference for the Financial Center in Vietnam, chaired by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh. The conference introduced the development direction of the International Financial Centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, highlighting Da Nang's advantages in fintech, infrastructure, financial ecosystem, and international human resources. Vietnam reaffirmed its commitment to open markets, connect training programs, and protect investor rights.

Participants discussed trends in digital finance, green finance, blockchain, and cooperation with international financial institutions. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh proposed strengthening cooperation between the Frankfurt financial center and Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. On this occasion, Da Nang signed a Memorandum of Understanding in cooperation with Frankfurt Main Finance Company.

Subsequently, on October 1, the Da Nang delegation visited the Fraunhofer Enas Institute, the Chemnitz Technology Center, and met with the city authorities of Chemnitz (Germany) to discuss cooperation in research, training, strategic technology development, innovation, education, cultural exchange, and business networking. The leadership of Chemnitz expressed their desire to implement specific cooperation activities with Da Nang in the near future.

Da Nang attracts investment in the areas of smart cities, aviation, and seaports from the Netherlands

On October 3rd, during the investment promotion program in the Netherlands, the delegation from Da Nang City, led by Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Nam Hung, held meetings with many partners in Amsterdam.

At the Amsterdam Smart City Project Management Agency, the delegation was introduced to the process of developing smart and creative city models, as well as solutions to urban challenges such as housing, energy, flooding, and climate change. Da Nang leaders shared their perspective on cooperation for digital transformation, innovation, and smart city development, expressing their desire to continue receiving advisory support and experience-sharing from Amsterdam.

Working with NACO, the leading consulting firm in airport planning, Da Nang has introduced the development plan for Chu Lai International Airport according to the 4F standard, integrated with an urban – service – logistics – high-tech area. The city hopes that NACO will assist in consulting on the design of a green, smart, and sustainable airport, as well as connecting reputable international investors to participate in the project, which is expected to call for investment in early 2026.

The delegation also worked with Royal Bokalis Westminster N.V., a member of Royal Boskalis N.V. Group, regarding maritime infrastructure projects. Both parties exchanged opportunities for cooperation on projects including Lien Chieu Port, dredging of the Cua Lo and Truong Giang River channels, and the construction of a reclaimed area.

This business trip opens up many new cooperation prospects for Da Nang in the fields of smart urban development, aviation, and port infrastructure.

City leaders visit and present gifts on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, the leadership of Da Nang city organized multiple delegations to visit and present gifts to children and underprivileged individuals in the city.

On the afternoon of October 1, Secretary of the City Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet visited the Da Nang Center for Victims of Agent Orange and Disadvantaged Children. The Secretary extended warm Mid-Autumn Festival greetings, encouraged the children to overcome insecurities, live optimistically, and strive for progress; he also acknowledged the efforts of the staff in caring for and educating the children.

On the same day, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang visited and presented gifts at Quang Nam Peace Village and Quang Nam Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. He thoughtfully inquired about and encouraged children in special circumstances as well as those undergoing medical treatment, while also giving gifts to the elderly in observance of International Day of Older Persons on October 1.

On the morning of October 2, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Cong Thanh visited the Center for the Care and Education of Disadvantaged Children (Hope Village) and the City Social Protection Center, affirming that the city always prioritizes resources to care for children and vulnerable people, and acknowledging the dedication of teachers and center staff over many years.

On the evening of October 3, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi, together with leaders of various departments, visited Tây Giang Commune (Tây Giang District) to attend the “Mid-Autumn Festival Night” program for children in mountainous areas and ethnic minority children. At the event, the delegation presented 300 gift packages (valued at 800,000 VND each) and 30 scholarships (valued at 1.3 million VND each) to outstanding students overcoming difficulties. The Vice Chairman emphasized that Da Nang always focuses on implementing social welfare policies and protecting children, especially in disadvantaged areas, while calling for increased social mobilization and ensuring a safe play environment for children.

Earlier, on the morning of October 1, Tran Thi Man, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, visited and presented Mid-Autumn Festival gifts at several social protection centers, extending her wishes for a warm festival to the children and encouraging them to study diligently and train themselves.

On the evening of October 2, at the City Labor Cultural House, the City Labor Federation organized the "Mid-Autumn Festival Night" program, featuring numerous cultural performances, traditional games, and distributing 300 direct gifts and 3,200 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts (with a total budget of 960 million VND) to the children of union members and workers facing difficulties. On this occasion, the City People's Committee also sent 4,000 gifts to underprivileged children and those with special circumstances in various communes and wards.

Opening of the East-West Economic Corridor International Trade, Tourism, and Investment Fair - Da Nang 2025

On the evening of October 1, the Trade Promotion Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade held the opening ceremony of the International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair of the East-West Economic Corridor – Da Nang 2025 (EWEC – Da Nang 2025).

In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, stated that following the merger, Da Nang has a population of over 3 million people and well-developed infrastructure, including two international airports and three international seaports, serving as a logistics hub connecting the East-West Economic Corridor. The EWEC 2025 fair holds special significance as the first international trade promotion event after the merger, affirming Da Nang’s stature and aspiration for deep international integration.

The fair brings together over 220 booths from 150 enterprises representing 20 provinces and cities across the country, along with businesses and international organizations from six countries, including Russia, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. Numerous side activities are organized, such as the exhibition of OCOP products, industrial-tourism products, introduction of investment projects, digital transformation skills training, business networking, and export promotion.

Da Nang collaborated with SGI Vina in developing green industry and high technology

On the morning of October 3, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong received Mr. Bang Jeff Seung-Tae, General Director of SGI Vina Co., Ltd., to promote strategic cooperation and assess project activities at Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park. SGI Vina's Plant No. 4, operational since 2024, serves as a key manufacturing hub for permanent magnets in Southeast Asia, capable of supplying approximately 2.5 million electric vehicles annually. Mr. Bang Jeff Seung-Tae reaffirmed the company's commitment to sustainable development and expressed a desire to collaborate with Da Nang in magnetic materials research and high technology.

Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong highly appreciated the company's role and pledged support regarding procedures, infrastructure, workforce, and encouragement for investment expansion, contributing to enhancing Da Nang's position in the high-tech industry sector.

The PPA Tour Asia – MB Vietnam Cup 2025 set a new Guinness World Record

On the afternoon of October 4th, at Tien Son Sports Palace, the PPA Tour Asia – MB Vietnam Cup 2025 International Pickleball Tournament officially concluded after five days of intense competition, leaving a strong impression on fans both domestically and internationally. Top players from around the world and Vietnam delivered high-level matches, creating a fervent sporting atmosphere akin to a true festival.

With over 7,900 spectators attending live at the Tien Son Sports Complex, the tournament has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the Pickleball event with the largest live audience in the world. This is a proud and significant milestone, not only for sports professionals but also as a testament to the growing popularity of Pickleball in Vietnam.

The success of the PPA Tour Asia – MB Vietnam Cup 2025 has contributed to affirming Da Nang – Vietnam's position on the international sports map, opening up opportunities for the city to become a destination for large-scale sporting events in the future.

Marvell’ s office inaugurated in Da Nang

On the afternoon of October 1st, Marvell Corporation held the inauguration ceremony of its office in Da Nang City. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, stated that Marvell's choice to establish a new office in Da Nang is a vivid testament to the company's long-term commitment and confidence in the investment environment and the potential for high-tech development in the locality.

The city authorities will accompany and provide the most favorable conditions in terms of operations, policies, infrastructure, and human resources to support Marvell in particular, and the high-tech business community in general. At the same time, it is expected that Marvell will continue to work closely with the government, relevant departments, and local educational and research institutions, contributing to the expansion of the semiconductor and integrated circuit ecosystem, promoting innovation, and collectively shaping a high-tech future for Da Nang.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, surveyed community tourism sites

On October 3, Deputy Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi led a working delegation to survey several cultural and community tourism sites in the mountainous communes of western Da Nang in order to assess the potential, current status, and development orientation of tourism associated with the preservation of indigenous culture.

At the Bhơhôồng Community Tourism Village (Sông Kôn Commune), the delegation noted the stable development of experiential tourism products such as traditional cuisine, Tân Tung Da Dá dance, brocade weaving, crossbow shooting, and homestays, with a significant increase in revenue since the start of 2025. The delegation also surveyed Đhrơồng Village (Đông Giang Commune) – a community tourism site based on the Co Tu cultural identity, which increasingly attracts both domestic and international visitors, yet still faces challenges regarding infrastructure and promotion.

In Avuong Commune, Ta Lang Village was a prominent destination before the pandemic but is currently facing difficulties in recovering, whereas Aur Hamlet is considered to have the potential to become a model community-based tourism site.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi highly appreciated the local efforts in preserving culture and developing experiential tourism products, while also pointing out limitations in infrastructure, human resources, promotion, and the environment. She emphasized that developing community-based tourism associated with Co Tu culture not only preserves identity but also creates livelihoods and promotes sustainable development. Relevant departments and agencies have been tasked with coordinating to overcome difficulties and advising on support systems to realize the potential of these destinations.
