Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính works with the Standing Committee of the Danang City Party Committee

On the afternoon of February 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Party Committee regarding the tasks of socio-economic development.

Affirming the determination of the city's Party committee, government, and people, Secretary of the City Party Committee Lê Ngọc Quang emphasized that Danang aims for double-digit growth, striving to achieve 11% or higher according to the resolution of the city Party Congress. The city is committed to continuously innovating its thinking, enhancing leadership and management capacity, promoting self-reliance and resilience, and making active contributions to the country's overall development. Following the merger, alongside many new opportunities, Danang still faces some institutional and infrastructure bottlenecks, particularly in the mountainous areas; therefore, he hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of the central government to mobilize resources and create momentum for breakthroughs in the upcoming period.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Phạm Đức Ấn stated that, in order to achieve a growth target of 11% or more and to enhance the effectiveness of the 2026 theme associated with promoting investment attraction and ensuring social welfare, the city has proactively developed a growth scenario along with key tasks and solutions for synchronized implementation. In this context, the Danang Free Trade Zone is accelerating terrain digitization, investment promotion, and evaluation, aiming to operate functional zones according to the roadmap. The Vietnam International Finance Center in Danang has commenced operations, continuing to complete infrastructure, management mechanisms, and new trading floor models, laying the foundation for the development of the modern financial sector.

Emphasizing the crucial growth role of Danang in the Central – Highlands region, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính highly appreciates the city's socio-economic development achievements with many positive growth indicators, active production, import-export activities, investment attraction, enterprise establishment, and thriving tourism. The Prime Minister also acknowledges the city's proactive and decisive efforts in building the international financial center.

In order for the international financial center in Danang to soon become a modern hub associated with innovation and sustainable finance, the Prime Minister calls for the city to accelerate investment in technical infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and social infrastructure; complete the organizational system and attract high-quality human resources; create a favorable investment environment and select key projects with a ripple effect. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen management coordination, supervision, promptly remove difficulties, improve special mechanisms and policies, ensuring the international financial center operates efficiently and in accordance with the intended direction.

Strengthening cooperation between Danang and Attapeu (Laos)

On the morning of February 26, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the City Party Committee Lê Ngọc Quang presided over a reception for Bounthong Douangsavan, Member of the Central Committee of the Laos People's Revolutionary Party and Secretary of the Attapeu Provincial Party Committee, along with his delegation, who came to visit, celebrate the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, and congratulate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. 

Secretary of the City Party Committee Lê Ngọc Quang affirmed that the city always values and promotes cooperative relations with the southern and central provinces of Laos, including Attapeu. The relations between the two localities are increasingly developing in substance, contributing to nurturing the special Vietnam–Laos solidarity. 

Currently, Danang has increased the scholarship rate to 100% for students from the southern and central provinces of Laos, including Attapeu, starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, while also strengthening exchanges of teachers and students learning Vietnamese and Laos. The two localities agreed to continue promoting cooperation in various fields, especially in education, training, and investment promotion in the upcoming period.

Attapeu Provincial Party Secretary Bounthong Douangsavan expressed the desire to continue receiving support from Danang in business connectivity and investment promotion, contributing to the strengthening of friendly, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two localities.

THACO exports 500 containers of goods and puts new factories into operation

On the morning of February 23, nearly 500 containers of goods from THACO's member corporations and Central Vietnamese enterprises were exported through Chu Lai International Port to various international markets, creating positive momentum for the start of the new year. The products include buses, motorcycles, automotive components, semi-trailers, industrial equipment, and agricultural products, meeting international standards and affirming the production capacity and deep integration of Vietnamese enterprises.

On the same day, THACO INDUSTRIES inaugurated factories for household equipment, specialized equipment, and automotive interiors with a total investment of tens of millions of USD, equipped with modern, highly automated technology lines. The factories have large production capacities, manufacturing a diverse range of mechanical products, industrial equipment, and automotive components, aiming at direct export and participation in the global supply chain.

The operation of the factories contributes to enhancing production capacity, increasing the localization rate, and establishing a large-scale mechanical manufacturing and supporting industry center in Chu Lai – Danang. At the same time, Chu Lai International Port continues to receive investment, with infrastructure and logistics services upgraded to meet the increasing import and export demands, creating a foundation to promote industrial development, logistics, and regional economic growth in the coming period.

Promoting comprehensive cooperation between Danang city and the Netherlands

On the afternoon of February 26, City People's Committee Chairman Phạm Đức Ấn presided over a meeting with the Netherlands Consul General in Hồ Chí Minh City, Raissa Anais Marteaux, who visited to discuss and work on directives to expand cooperation with Danang.

The City People's Committee Chairman provided information on the development situation and orientation for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on the development of seaports, aviation, logistics, high-tech industries, information technology, and attracting investment in sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and IoT. The city also has new development areas, synchronized infrastructure with airports, seaports, economic zones, and many special mechanisms, facilitating the attraction of international investment.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Consul General to assist in connecting Dutch businesses to explore investment opportunities, especially in the Free Trade Zone, Liên Chiểu Port, and Chu Lai Airport; at the same time, to promote the establishment of cooperative relations between Danang and Dutch localities. The city also plans to organize a working delegation to the Netherlands in May 2026 to promote cooperation in seaports, adaptive urban development, and sustainable infrastructure.

Consul General Raissa Anais Marteaux highly valued Danang's potential and development orientation, affirming that she will support connecting partners, contributing to promoting comprehensive cooperation between the Netherlands and the city in the coming time.

Sponsorship Signing Ceremony between SHB Danang Club and Takara Joint Stock Company

On the afternoon of February 28, at Chi Lăng Stadium, a sponsorship signing ceremony took place between SHB Danang Football Club and Takara Joint Stock Company. 

Deputy Chairwoman of the City People's Committee, Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi, stated that Takara Joint Stock Company has accompanied Danang in many cultural, tourism, and community activities, contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic, integrated city. The city always regards Japan as an important partner; Takara's sponsorship of SHB Danang Football Club continues to strengthen cooperative relations and provide additional resources for the team to develop in a steadfast way. 

The signing ceremony marks the official partnership between the two units in the spirit of sustainable, professional cooperation and aims toward long-term goals, contributing to a solid foundation for future achievements.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways inaugurates a new flight route to Danang, expanding tourism connectivity in Central Vietnam

On February 25, Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially launched flight routes connecting Hanoi and Hồ Chí Minh City with Danang, expanding airline choices, flight schedules, and facilitating travel for residents and tourists. The first flights from Hanoi and Hồ Chí Minh City landed in Danang on the same day, marking the airline's entry into a key domestic air corridor. 

It is expected that from March 15, 2026, the airline will continue to operate the Danang – Phu Quoc route, expanding the network connecting major tourist centers. The introduction of these new routes contributes to enhancing connectivity, promoting tourism and service development, and attracting visitors to Danang, especially during the Danang International Fireworks Festival 2026.

Proposal to sign a cooperation agreement to send workers to work at Musashino Group (Japan)

On the afternoon of February 26, the Department of Home Affairs held a meeting with Musashino Group (Japan) to discuss cooperation and the deployment of workers from Danang city to work in the Group for the upcoming period. According to the proposal, the Group will prioritize receiving Danang workers with specific numbers and standards for each phase, while also cooperating to ensure the rights and benefits of the workers.

The Department of Home Affairs stated that in recent years, the city has implemented many policies supporting sending workers to work abroad, with nearly 3,000 workers going to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Saudi Arabia, etc., each year, among which the Japanese market accounts for nearly 80%. In addition, the Department requested that Musashino Group consider investing in production and business in Danang and accompany the city in implementing social welfare policies.
