Promote international integration, creating new development momentum

At the city International Integration Steering Committee meeting on the afternoon of March 10, the Chairman of the City People's Committee, Phạm Đức Ấn, emphasized that learning and using foreign languages is an urgent requirement, especially for the young cadre team, in order to meet the demands of cooperation and work with international partners of a tourist city with extensive international relations.

After one year of implementing Resolution 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo, the city continues to promote deep integration, closely linked with the development of human resources, tourism, high-quality services, and the expansion of international cooperation.

The city aims to develop high-quality services associated with integration such as resort tourism, advanced medical services, and healthcare; at the same time, it creates favorable conditions to attract investment in modern medical facilities. Along with this, the competent authorities are studying flexible solutions regarding visas and the management of foreign residents, both facilitating international cooperation and ensuring security and order.

Danang cooperates with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to develop climate-adaptive urban areas

At the working session for the project "Vietnamese Cities Resilient/Adaptive to Climate Change" (VNCRM) on the morning of March 11, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thái Bình expressed gratitude to the Government of Canada for supporting Vietnam in implementing sustainable urban development programs that are adaptive to climate change. He also noted that the Hội An area frequently suffers from the impacts of floods and coastal erosion. Therefore, the implementation of studies and solutions for the capacity to enhance climate change adaptation is necessary and of practical significance.

Judith Clara Varga – Toth, Project Manager of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, shared that the project provides an opportunity for localities of the two countries to exchange experiences in managing and developing cities adaptive to climate change. Experts from six Canadian cities also hope to learn about effective models in Vietnam, particularly in the areas of erosion, plastic waste management, and promoting gender equality in urban development.

During the period 2026–2030, the VNCRM Project will be implemented in Quảng Ninh, Đồng Tháp, Lâm Đồng, and Danang. In Danang, it will be piloted in the wards of Hội An, Hội An Đông, and Hội An Tây.

Danang promotes sustainable urban cooperation with Yokohama City (Japan)

At the working session on the afternoon of March 9, the city of Danang and the delegation from Yokohama City (Japan) discussed the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and directions for future cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development.

The Yokohama delegation also introduced the initiative of the Asian Circular Cities Declaration (ACCD), announced at the Asia Smart City Conference 2025. At the same time, they proposed that Danang consider participating as a founding member. According to the plan, this initiative is expected to be officially announced at a press conference held on March 25, 2026, in Bangkok.

The two sides also exchanged views on upcoming cooperation activities, including the organization of the Asia-Pacific Circular Cities Forum (APCC Forum) expected to take place in September 2026 in Yokohama, aiming to share experiences in circular urban development and carbon neutrality…

Deputy Chairman of the City People's Committee, Hồ Quang Bửu, stated that Danang plans to participate in the Asian Circular Cities Declaration (ACCD) as a founding city in March 2026. The city aims to be among the top 50 smart cities in the world by 2030.

March 29: Organize the ballet performance “Romeo and Juliet” in Danang

At the working session with the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Danang, Mizonova Maria Georgievna, on the afternoon of March 13, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyễn Thị Anh Thi agreed to support the organization of the ballet performance Romeo and Juliet by the Russian State Ballet.

The performance is scheduled to take place at 1:00 PM on March 29, 2026, at the Trung Vuong Theater with the participation of 41 core members and artists. This is a notable cultural and artistic event of the city to commemorate Danang Liberation Day (March 29).

Ms. Mizonova Maria Georgievna expressed gratitude for the city's support, noting the program’s contribution of introducing the art of Russian ballet to the public and enhancing Vietnam–Russia cultural exchange.

Danang promotes tourism, expanding the Russian tourist market

From March 11 to 13, Danang participated in the MITT Moscow 2026 International Tourism Fair at the Crocus Expo Exhibition Center (Russian Federation), aiming to promote the destination to the Russian market and CIS countries. The Danang Tourism booth featured the participation of five businesses, showcasing key products such as beach resorts combined with cultural and natural experiences.

Within the framework of the fair, the Danang Tourism Promotion Center with businesses, plans to organize around 360 B2B meetings with travel partners in the Russian and CIS markets. Through this, Danang continues to promote its image as a beach destination, expanding the market of Russian visitors with longer stays and higher spending.
