Đà Nẵng strengthens cooperation with India in multiple key sectors
On the morning of January 14, Chairman of the City People's Committee Phạm Đức Ấn presided over a meeting with Mr. Tshering W Sherpa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam, during his visit and working trip to Đà Nẵng.
During the meeting, the Chairman emphasized that Đà Nẵng identifies tourism as a key economic sector, focusing on infrastructure investment, improving service quality, and expanding the international visitor market, including the Indian market. He expressed the desire for Indian support in promoting, connecting, and promptly restoring and opening new direct flight routes.
Ambassador Tshering W Sherpa highly appreciated the dynamic development of Đà Nẵng and affirmed that the Vietnam–India relationship is a special one, strengthened through its upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The ambassador stated that the two countries are implementing numerous cultural heritage conservation projects and promoting cultural and religious exchanges in Đà Nẵng, while also expressing a desire to strengthen cooperation with the city in the areas of economy, trade, education, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges, with the restoration of direct flights seen as an important driving force.

Đà Nẵng signs a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Daegu City (South Korea)
At noon on January 15, Chairman of the Đà Nẵng People's Committee, Phạm Đức Ấn, presided over a meeting with the delegation from Daegu City (South Korea) led by Mr. Kim Jung-ki, Acting Mayor of Daegu, who visited Đà Nẵng for a courtesy call and official discussions.
Chairman Phạm Đức Ấn shared Đà Nẵng's development orientation for the upcoming period. The city focuses on attracting investment and implementing cooperation projects with South Korean partners in areas such as semiconductors, electronic chips, artificial intelligence, IoT, gene technology, stem cells, air logistics, medicinal herbs, and the development of the Ngọc Linh ginseng brand, alongside collaboration in culture and sustainable green tourism.
Acting Mayor Kim Jung-ki highly appreciates the remarkable development achievements of Đà Nẵng in recent times and hopes to continue strengthening friendly relations and expanding practical cooperation with Đà Nẵng in areas where both sides have strengths, contributing to a deeper cooperative relationship between the two localities.

Promoting cooperation with South Korean businesses
On the afternoon of January 15, the Chairman of the City People's Committee, Phạm Đức Ấn, held a working session with Samsung Home Corp (South Korea) to discuss cooperation orientation and promote investment in the near future.
Mr. Lee Sang Pil, Vice Chairman of Samsung Home Corp, expressed his interest in exploring and promoting investment in Đà Nẵng, focusing on areas such as industrial zones, smart cities, urban infrastructure, housing, and commercial spaces, with the aim of implementing large-scale projects with investments amounting to several billion USD.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee highly appreciates the interest of Korean enterprises and affirms that Đà Nẵng values cooperation with reputable international partners. The city is currently implementing a new planning period directed towards a modern, sustainable, multi-centered urban development, prioritizing investment attraction in services, logistics, high technology, and smart urban areas. On the morning of January 13, Chairman of the City People's Committee Phạm Đức Ấn presided over a working session with the team of expert consultants for the project 'Breakthrough Development Strategy for Đà Nẵng City.'
Representatives from AVSE Global shared various perspectives and international experiences regarding the orientation and driving forces for breakthrough development in Đà Nẵng, focusing on the central financial infrastructure, free trade zones, infrastructure development, education, energy, green urban areas, and attracting resources for sustainable development.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized the particularly important role of planning for long-term, sustainable development; he affirmed that Đà Nẵng is oriented toward rapid and sustainable development, focusing on the eastern coastal area, the south associated with Chu Lai Airport, developing green industries, high technology, and logistics connecting the East-West regions, as well as the western area linked with science and technology, forests, medicinal plants, and experiential tourism. The city expects the experts to continue providing in-depth consultancy to help develop suitable and effective planning.

Đà Nẵng – Yongin sign an agreement to establish a friendly cooperation relationship
On the afternoon of January 14, Vice Chairman of the Đà Nẵng City People's Committee, Hồ Kỳ Minh, presided over a reception for a delegation from Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province (South Korea), led by Mayor Lee Sang-il, who visited and held working sessions in Đà Nẵng.
The Vice Chairman highly appreciated the significance of the visit, which contributes to enhancing exchanges, cooperation, and strengthening the friendship between the two localities; he affirmed that the city of Đà Nẵng will continue to foster and develop the friendly cooperative relationship established in 2013 in a practical and effective manner.
Đà Nẵng city is focusing on attracting investment in key areas such as high technology, artificial intelligence, and building a smart city; at the same time, it hopes to expand cooperation with South Korean partners, including Yongin, in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, education, and sports.

Đà Nẵng – Daegu (South Korea) promote cooperation among information technology businesses
On the afternoon of January 14, the Đà Nẵng Center for Research and Training in Microchip Design and Artificial Intelligence (DSAC) organized the Daegu (South Korea) – Đà Nẵng IT Enterprise Seminar.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hồ Quang Bửu affirmed that the event serves as proof of the friendly, substantial, and increasingly profound cooperation between Đà Nẵng and Daegu, particularly in the field of information and communication technology. Đà Nẵng has been recognized as the innovation hub of the key economic region in central Vietnam and has consistently led the country for many years in the readiness index for developing and applying information technology.
The city is focusing on completing Software Park No. 2, establishing a Free Trade Zone linked to Liên Chiểu Port and an international financial center; at the same time, it is implementing new special mechanisms and policies to facilitate investment attraction in high-tech sectors, semiconductor microchips, and artificial intelligence. On this basis, city leaders hope to strengthen cooperation with Daegu in human resource training, technology transfer, and business connectivity.
Kim Jung Ki, Acting Mayor of Daegu, emphasized the more than 20-year cooperative relationship between the two localities and appreciated the expansion of collaboration into the ICT sector – an industry of the future.

Launching the project to promote gender equality and empower women in Đà Nẵng for the 2026–2028 period
On the morning of January 14, the City Women’s Union, in coordination with UN Women, held a workshop to launch the project "Promoting Gender Equality and Empowering Women to Build a Safe, Compassionate, and Climate-Resilient Đà Nẵng" for the 2026–2028 period.
The project aims to enhance gender capacity and responsibility in preventing and responding to gender-based violence; promote an equitable and sustainable care economy transformation; and strengthen gender-responsive climate adaptation.
Over the past 10 years, UN Women has consistently been a strategic partner, accompanying the City Women’s Union in promoting gender equality. In the upcoming period, the Union will continue to play a central role, effectively coordinating project implementation, contributing to positive and sustainable changes for women, children, and the community in Đà Nẵng.
